Chris Pratt, the actor who plays Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, has shared what his character has been up to since the last Marvel film. After deciding to retire from superheroics and leave his team at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Star-Lord (Peter Quill) returned to Earth to reconnect with his family, a direction Pratt feels is natural for the character’s story.
Chris Pratt recently discussed his career with ScreenTime while promoting his new movie, Mercy. He talked about some of his most memorable roles, including Owen Grady from Jurassic World, Mario from The Super Mario Bros. movies, and Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. While there aren’t any current plans for him to reprise his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pratt expressed a desire to return to the franchise someday. He was then asked what he imagines Star-Lord is up to now.
He’s likely avoiding acknowledging his role in Iron Man’s death, while also trying to rebuild his image as a hero. Plus, he’s been busy listening to music – everything from 1970s pop to more recent hits, since he’s been away for a while.
We previously established in the Guardians of the Galaxy stories that Star-Lord would come back, and I’m eager to follow through on that storyline. It would be fantastic to do so.
Although Chris Pratt doesn’t currently have plans to return as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many believe he’ll appear in a future Avengers film. When asked which other superhero he’d like to play, Pratt immediately named his childhood favorite: the Punisher. He even suggested a specific version, “Punisher 2099.” While Jon Bernthal is already known for playing the Punisher, Pratt points out that he’s already explored a similar character through his role as James Reece in the action series The Terminal List.
Is There a Chance Star-Lord Will Appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?

Walt Disney Pictures
Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, isn’t expected to be in Avengers: Doomsday, the upcoming Marvel movie scheduled for release in December 2026. This film will bring together the biggest group of Marvel heroes yet, including returning characters like Thor and Ant-Man. However, the original Guardians of the Galaxy team won’t be featured, and some believe the Fantastic Four will take their place.

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m still holding out hope for some surprise cameos in Avengers: DoomSDAY. It’s set to be a massive return for a lot of characters we haven’t seen in a while, and honestly, I think the Russo brothers are going all-out to wrap up the Multiverse Saga. I have a feeling they’ll bring back pretty much anyone and everyone, even if it’s just for a quick moment!
