The third season of Tell Me Lies is full of even more unexpected plots and betrayals, and even the actors were surprised by one particular romantic development.
I’m totally hooked on Tell Me Lies! It’s full of messy relationships, friends who aren’t really friends, and a storyline that jumps around in time, and it’s clearly a hit here in the UK – it’s already shot up to number 2 on Disney+!
One of the biggest surprises in the third season of Tell Me Lies is a new romantic relationship that even caught the show’s stars, Grace Van Patten and Jackson White, off guard. Be warned: spoilers for season 3 follow!

In season 3, episode 4, titled ‘Fix Me Up, Girl’, viewers saw a connection develop between Bree (Catherine Missal) and Wrigley (Spencer House). This episode takes place in 2015, during the time of Bree’s wedding to Evan (Branden Cook).
The show hasn’t confirmed if these two characters had a secret relationship during their college years, but it’s possible they had an affair. This seems likely because Wrigley is currently dating Pippa (Sonia Mena) during that time.
In 2015, Stephen White noticed a lingering look between new bride Bree and Wrigley while they were dancing, and he suspected something was going on.
Actor White, similar to Stephen, was surprised by the couple, but in a good way. “I love it!” he exclaimed to RadioTimes.com.
Despite being equally shocked, Van Patten said the pair “makes sense” together.
She explained that she enjoys the show, particularly the first two seasons, and believes viewers connect with the characters just as much as she does.
Watching these characters fall in love will be messy, because they’re both making mistakes. But at the same time, you feel like they belong together, which creates a really confusing emotional experience for the viewer.
White chimed in, reiterating his support for Bree and Wrigley: “They’re cute.”
Viewers can anticipate learning more about these characters before the season concludes with a suspenseful cliffhanger on February 17th.
Okay, so I’m starting to think Bree wasn’t that bothered about finding out Lucy and Evan hooked up in college because she’s really into Wrigley. It kind of explains why she didn’t totally freak out, you know?
