British actress Charlotte Kirk recently welcomed her first child, a baby boy. She described the birth as a difficult and frightening experience that brought her to tears.
Actress Katherine Heigl, age 33, and her fiancé, film producer Karlos Ways, 39, recently welcomed their son, Hunter, at Queen Mary’s Hospital in London.
Charlotte shared the news of her son’s birth with the Daily Mail, describing how labor began positively. ‘I felt fantastic with the gas and air at first,’ she said, ‘but things quickly became intense.’
The strong painkiller, pethidine, didn’t help much at all. I eventually asked for an epidural, and it was a lifesaver.
Things quickly became much more serious when Hunter’s heart rate unexpectedly dropped. “It was absolutely terrifying,” Charlotte said.
As soon as his heart rate began to fall, over ten people flooded into the room, urgently calling for an immediate delivery.

I suddenly started crying because I felt completely powerless and unable to cope. I was overwhelmed with emotion and didn’t know how to keep my baby safe.
She explained that she experienced the anxieties mothers often describe, and realized only through motherhood could she truly understand them.
The actress, originally from Kent, shared that she had to work extremely fast while filming the upcoming action thriller, The Night Driver, alongside Josh Lucas and David Arquette – she was four and a half months pregnant during filming.
‘They did use a vacuum to help get him out, but he’s absolutely perfect – happy and healthy.’
Charlotte recently shared a sweet photo with the Daily Mail of herself holding her newborn son, taken shortly after he was born.
The actress explained they chose the name Hunter for their son because it represents courage, and they wanted a name that would suit him as he got older.
Charlotte and Karlos have known each other for over three years, having been introduced by friends. They immediately felt a connection.
Charlotte says becoming a mother after a challenging birth has completely changed her life.

She described it as a deeply loving experience that felt both comforting and liberating, like the start of something completely new.
It’s a deeply rewarding experience – difficult at times, but also incredibly fulfilling and brings a lot of happiness. It’s completely shifted my perspective, even in my professional life.
Honestly, my perspective on everything has shifted dramatically. It sounds cliché, but people aren’t kidding when they say becoming a mother transforms your life. It’s a total game-changer, and I finally get it.
She also talked about the huge pressure actresses face to quickly regain their pre-pregnancy bodies after having a baby.
She admitted she always feels pressure, but shared that, for the first time, she’s not focused on her body or appearance. Her priority now is her baby.
Charlotte, formerly engaged to director Neil Marshall (known for films like The Descent and his work on Game of Thrones), filmed three different projects while pregnant with her son, Hunter.
She admitted she was a little worried about filming ‘The Night Driver’ with Josh Lucas because her costume was very tight-fitting. Luckily, she felt she managed to pull it off.
Shot on location in New Mexico, the movie centers around a travelling drug salesman, portrayed by Josh, who narrowly escapes a dangerous encounter with a mentally unstable killer, and then finds himself constantly hunted across the nation.
Charlotte stars as Max, a single mom and bartender haunted by her past. A chance meeting with a salesman unexpectedly transforms her life.
She filmed “Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow” while four months pregnant, and she not only acted in it but also wrote the screenplay through her own production company.
She explained that she had many different roles on the project. She recalled that near the end of filming, the director asked her how far along she was in her pregnancy.
Despite my attempts to be discreet, he pointed out that he’d seen me gently touching my stomach – a habit common among expectant mothers.
In 2020, Charlotte became widely known after a private relationship with Ron Meyer, a married executive at NBCUniversal, was revealed, leading to his unexpected resignation.

The situation unexpectedly thrust her into a major international controversy, pitting powerful figures in the entertainment industry against each other and causing significant corporate repercussions.
Despite the scandal, Charlotte didn’t let it stop her. She kept getting important acting roles and also began working as a writer and producer.
Charlotte will play the main character, Jackie, in the new comedy horror film Jackie the Stripper, which is scheduled for release later this year. The film also stars Patsy Kensit and James Phelps, known for his role in the Harry Potter series.
She’s happy she continued working during her pregnancy, but now she’s focusing on spending time with her new baby before getting back to work.
She added that she’s cocerned by challenges facing working mothers in the industry.
Charlotte said: ‘There’s definitely more that can be done.
Providing childcare on movie and TV sets would be a significant improvement. It would help mothers return to work more quickly and feel less stressed about juggling work and family. No one should have to choose between a career and being a parent.
