Call the Midwife’s Olly Rix announces engagement to Casualty co-star

Olly Rix, famous for playing Matthew Aylward in Call the Midwife, is engaged to Anna Chell, who appears in Casualty. Rix announced the engagement on social media, sharing the joyful news with his followers.

Rix posted a sweet selfie on Instagram Monday showing him kissing Chell on the forehead. He hinted at an engagement with a ring emoji and a heart in the caption.

After leaving Call the Midwife in 2024, Rix began working on the BBC medical drama Casualty in early 2025, where he met Chell. Rix plays the role of surgeon Flynn Byron, and Chell plays nurse Jodie Whyte.
