Brooklyn Beckham revealed on Monday night that his mother, Victoria, unexpectedly took over their first dance at his wedding.
Just two years ago, Victoria Beckham publicly praised Nicola Peltz, calling her a ‘loving daughter-in-law‘ and mentioning their mutual enjoyment of dancing.
As a little birthday treat for Nicola – she turned 29 in January 2024 – I shared a sweet video of us holding hands and dancing on the beach. It just felt right to publicly express how much love I have for her and our relationship with a heartfelt caption!
Happy birthday, Nicola Peltz Beckham! We send you so much love! We admire your kindness, talent, and even your fun ability to dance in heels on the beach!
I absolutely adore Nicola! She’s not just an incredible dancer – the best partner, honestly – but also such a wonderful daughter-in-law. Everyone loves her, and I was so touched when Victoria shared a video of her a year later to celebrate her turning 30. It just shows how much she means to all of us, and I always wish her the most amazing day!
On Monday night, Brooklyn made a surprising accusation, claiming Victoria interrupted his first dance with his wife and then danced provocatively with him in front of guests.

Brooklyn explained that his first dance with Nicola at their wedding was unexpectedly interrupted. Instead of dancing with his bride in front of their 500 guests, Marc Anthony, a close friend of his parents, invited him onstage, where his mother was waiting to dance with him instead.
Brooklyn explained that the woman danced suggestively on her in public, leaving her feeling deeply uncomfortable and humiliated – the worst she’d ever felt in her life.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! He actually admitted he was so mortified – embarrassed, he said – that he and Nicola had to secretly renew their vows last year, just the two of them! He said they did it without his family even being there. Can you imagine?! It’s just… everything!
Brooklyn and his wife have been caught in a bitter family feud, causing them to skip important events like his father David’s 50th birthday and celebration of his knighthood.
The chef explained that his family prioritized publicity over everything else, and that he’d felt controlled by them because of it. He also shared that since marrying his wife, Nicola, he’s finally found peace and overcome severe anxiety.
Brooklyn also stated that Victoria, a fashion designer herself, cancelled plans to create Nicola’s wedding dress right before the wedding.
‘I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.
My parents and their representatives have repeatedly talked to the media, so I feel I need to respond and clarify what isn’t true in their reports.

I’ve decided not to try and make things right with my family. This isn’t about someone controlling me; it’s about finally asserting my own needs and boundaries, which I haven’t done before.
‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.
Growing up, I always felt surrounded by showy displays – carefully curated social media posts, events that felt more about appearances than connection, and relationships that just didn’t feel genuine. It was just the way of life I knew.
I’ve recently witnessed how far some people will go to spread lies in the media, often harming innocent individuals, all to maintain a false image. However, I’m confident that the truth will eventually be revealed.
He explained that his parents have consistently tried to sabotage his relationship, starting even before his wedding, and they still haven’t stopped.
My mom suddenly cancelled making Nicola’s dress right before the event, even though Nicola was really looking forward to wearing it. This left Nicola scrambling to find a replacement.
In the weeks leading up to my wedding, my parents constantly pressured me – even offering money – to legally change my name. This would have impacted not only me, but also my wife and any children we might have.
Brooklyn explained that his family prioritizes public image and sponsorships above everything else, always putting the ‘Beckham brand’ first.

These days, it seems like ‘family love’ is measured by social media posts or rushing to be in family photos, even if it means neglecting work or other commitments.
For years, we’ve made a real effort to be present at all the fashion shows, parties, and media events, always presenting a picture of a happy family. But when my wife needed my mother’s help to rescue dogs affected by the Los Angeles fires, my mother surprisingly said no.
It’s completely wrong to say my wife controls me. Actually, I’ve been the one being controlled – by my parents – for most of my life.
I used to struggle with intense anxiety, but since becoming independent from my family, it’s gone away. Now, I wake up each day feeling thankful for the life I’ve built and experiencing a sense of calm and peace.
My wife and I simply want a peaceful, private life, and happiness for our family – without being influenced by public perception or outside interference.
Daily Mail has contacted the Beckhams for comment.
