The hit anime series, Lord of Mysteries, is being adapted into a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Here’s a rundown of all the details we have so far.
Most people enjoy playing MMORPGs, but many feel there aren’t many truly great ones available right now, with RuneScape and World of Warcraft often being the exceptions. Recently, a new MMORPG based on the popular anime series, Lord of Mysteries, was announced.
So, what is this MMORPG exactly? And why has it shocked so many gamers?
Lord of Mysteries MMORPG was revealed directly after the first season of the anime was released
In June, China unexpectedly released an animated series called Lord of Mysteries. It quickly gained popularity thanks to its distinctive animation style and captivating storyline with well-developed characters. After a first season of 13 episodes, fans are eagerly awaiting the next season.
It seems we’re getting much more than just another season of the show – a full-fledged MMORPG is officially in the works!
We haven’t seen much of the Lord of Mysteries MMORPG yet, but a recent preview showed a character exploring the game world. The graphics are incredibly impressive.
New seasons are on the way! Season 2 will arrive in 2027, followed by Season 3 in 2030, Season 4 in 2032, Season 5 in 2033, and Season 6 in 2034. Check out the trailer below!
Release date
An official release date for the Lord of Mysteries MMORPG hasn’t been announced yet. But with season two of the series planned for 2027, the game could potentially launch around the same time.
We also received an official plan for the anime’s release, which is scheduled to continue until 2035. You can find the details in the roadmap below:

What is Lord of Mysteries?
Lord of Mysteries is a Chinese animated series set in a world inspired by Victorian England and steampunk aesthetics. It’s a magical and mysterious show with remarkably high-quality animation.
I started watching this anime back in June 2025, and right now there’s only one season out. But the best part is, it’s on Crunchyroll, so it’s super easy to check it out if you’re into anime!
Although it’s unclear what the future holds for the show’s online role-playing game, fans are still very excited about what they’ve learned so far.
