Poison, the popular heavy metal band, has reportedly canceled their planned 2026 tour because the members couldn’t reach an agreement about finances.
Every Rose Has Its Thorn last performed live in 2022, opening for Def Leppard. They had planned to headline their own shows this year, but those plans have changed.
Drummer Rikki Rockett, a founding member of the band since 1983, says the tour has been canceled because singer Bret Michaels reportedly wanted the majority of the earnings.
According to a recent report in the New York Post’s Page Six, 64-year-old Rockett said they received what he considered a good offer, but ultimately decided to walk away from the deal because it didn’t come together.
Basically, Bobby, the bassist, and I were completely on board with the project, and I believed Bret was too. However, he insisted on taking the biggest portion of the profits, which unfortunately made it impossible to move forward.
Rockett explained to the publication that for every dollar his company spends, they receive six dollars in return, which he believes is an unsustainable way to operate.

The drummer explained that while he enjoys his work, it’s also important to him to be fairly compensated. He said he’s passionate about what he does, but doesn’t want to work tirelessly just to enrich others.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Michaels’ rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Michaels shared on Instagram that he’s excited about upcoming shows in 2026, posting a cheerful message about enjoying the beach and looking forward to performing. He wished his followers a great weekend.
This announcement follows Rockett’s recent statement that a 2026 tour was highly likely.
During an interview on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett confirmed that a tour is planned for 2026. He stated, ‘Absolutely, 2026 is going to happen.’
Unless something unexpected comes up, the band is committed to moving forward – everyone is fully on board and certain it will happen.
The lead singer of the band, Michaels, revealed last year that he’ll be taking a break for much, or possibly all, of 2025 because of health issues. He’s also had a thriving career as a solo artist.

In a statement released in March, he emphasized that music should bring people together, inspire them, and never create division. He described it as the backdrop to our daily lives and shared his excitement to dedicate all his energy to performing in 2024, giving his all on stage each night.
After careful consideration and advice from my doctors and family, especially following some recent health challenges, I’ve decided to take most of 2025 off. I may do a few select shows with the BRET MICHAELS BAND and potentially some with the original lineup of POISON.
‘I truly need to recharge the batteries and get a good, much-needed physical tune-up.
As someone who truly lives for connecting with an audience, I want you to know how incredibly thankful I am for all of your support. I’m already looking forward to 2026 and beyond – I’m committed to coming back stronger than ever, bringing 100% energy and that same unwavering spirit to the stage. It’s all about giving you the best possible experience, and I can’t wait to be back!
