Jeff Brazier enjoyed spending time with his sons, Bobby and Freddy, this weekend, after recently separating from his wife, Kate.
The TV presenter, now 46, and his wife, a 35-year-old publicist, began dating in 2013 and married in 2018. Kate became a stepmother to his two sons from his previous marriage to Jade Goody, who tragically died from cervical cancer in 2009.
I was absolutely devastated to hear Jeff and Kate were splitting up! Apparently, it happened way back in the summer, but they didn’t tell anyone until November. Can you believe Kate actually moved out three weeks before they even made it public? It just feels…so sad, knowing they were living separate lives for a while before we all found out after 12 years together.
Despite everything, he seemed cheerful on Sunday, working out with Bobby, 22, and Freddy, 21, at the David Lloyd health club in Harlow.
Jeff posted a photo on Instagram showing him and his sons working out at the gym. He shared a mirror selfie of them all on exercise machines.
The TV personality playfully teased his own lack of physical fitness in the photo’s caption, writing, ‘Fred has the muscles, Bob the abs… I take the pictures❤️’.
Jeff and his youngest son recently resolved a long and difficult family conflict that strained their relationship for much of the past year.
Freddy and his father were involved in a public dispute. Freddy took legal steps to try and ensure he could still see his grandmother, Jackiey Budden, after his father attempted to prevent visits.
After learning his ex-girlfriend, Holly Swinburn, was pregnant, Freddy’s father and he were able to mend their relationship.
Jeff seemed to make another indirect comment about Jackiey on Sunday, following a family lunch after they exercised.
He posted a photo of his son, Freddy, happily talking with a family friend, Tracie Sullivan, and publicly complimented their close bond. This seemed to be a subtle criticism of his ex-partner, Jackiey.
‘We have lots of special people in our lives and @tracisedoes is one of the best,’ he gushed.
She and Fred have been happily together for years, and I’m grateful for how excited she always is to see him.
After Jade passed away, Jackiey, now 68, stepped in to help raise her sons, Bobby and Freddy. However, she and Jeff have had disagreements and conflicts throughout the years.
Freddy stated that Jackiey introduced him to drugs, and then shockingly shared he had attempted suicide by deliberately crashing his car during a period of extreme mental distress.
Jeff has repeatedly expressed concern that his son is negatively impacted by his grandmother. Last year, he even thought about getting a legal order to prevent them from seeing each other, believing it was necessary to protect his son.
Freddy took Jackiey’s side, which led to a falling out with Jeff. Eventually, Jeff stopped trying to pursue the legal claim because it became clear his son wasn’t going to support his efforts.
Thankfully, after Freddy announced he was going to be a father in August, he promised to make positive changes in his life and rebuild his friendship with Jeff.
Unfortunately, the family issues created problems in Jeff and Kate’s marriage, and those close to them told the Daily Mail that it contributed to their eventual separation as they drifted apart.
Someone described Kate as lively, attractive, and someone who enjoys a social life. She wanted to continue traveling and enjoying her independence now that her children are grown.
Jeff instead became consumed by his legal battle with Jackiey, which further damaged their marriage.
Kate, who works in public relations and doesn’t have children, felt Jeff was preventing her from fully enjoying her life and the freedom it offered.
Jeff announced their breakup on Instagram, explaining that a challenging year and strained relationship with Freddy contributed to the split.
Sharing an old family photo, the dad explained that he and his wife separated over the summer because they realized they weren’t able to make each other happy anymore.
He shared with fans that he feels immense love and gratitude for Kate. He acknowledged everything they accomplished together, how much they both developed as individuals, and the challenges they overcame. They decided to separate over the summer and chose to keep the news private for a while to allow themselves time to adapt.
For twelve years, we’ve been a constant source of support and comfort for each other, especially through some challenging and complicated times in our lives. I’m incredibly proud of our dedication, our consistent presence for one another, and how much effort we both put in.
I deeply admire Kate’s successful career and am incredibly grateful for her unwavering and unconditional care for me.
Jeff mentioned that Kate continues to ask about his sons, especially now that Freddy is expecting a baby.
It really shows how much she cares that she continues to check on the boys and ask how they’re doing, given how involved she is in their lives.
Everyone who knows her cares about her deeply, and I’m no exception. I’ll especially miss her wonderful family, who have always been incredibly supportive.
Honestly, what I’m saying doesn’t quite capture everything that’s going on, and that’s okay. We’re still a team, supporting each other through thick and thin. I have absolutely no doubt she’s going to achieve amazing things, and I’ll be cheering her on every step of the way, just like I always have.
We both deserve to be happy, but we realized we couldn’t make each other happy in the long run, so we decided it was time to move on.
During a family dispute in June, Freddy seemed to indirectly criticize Kate when he posted a list of things he dislikes, including ‘step parents’.
The couple previously split in late 2022 before rekindling their relationship seven months later.
Kate has shared that she once felt like her marriage to Jeff was failing, but she later realized that all relationships go through difficult times. This realization came after they worked through their issues and reconciled.
She shared her views on marriage when a follower asked for advice on how to improve their relationship.
She responded by saying it’s common for people to only share the positive aspects of their lives on social media. She believes anyone who claims marriage and parenting are simple isn’t being truthful. She used to feel like she wasn’t measuring up until she realized everyone faces challenges.
I value my privacy and won’t discuss the specifics of our relationship, but I’m incredibly thankful that my husband is as committed to growing as a person and strengthening our bond as I am. That’s really all you can hope for in a partner.
Following a recent report in the Daily Mail, Jeff, Bobby, and Freddy are set to appear in a reality show similar to ‘The Osbournes’. The show is the result of discussions with ITV that took place over several weeks last year.
This project follows the Brazier family as they deal with personal challenges: Jeff and Katie are separating, Freddy has broken up with his pregnant girlfriend Holly, and Bobby has joined the Hari Krishna movement.
According to someone familiar with the show, it will be similar to the popular early 2000s reality series The Osbournes, which documented the daily life of Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon, and their children, Kelly and Jack.
A source revealed to the Daily Mail last month that the upcoming show promises to be captivating, as there’s been considerable ongoing conflict within the Brazier team, and it doesn’t appear to be resolving anytime soon.
It will reveal the truth about their relationships, which have been plagued by problems and frequent disagreements.
This show is going to be impossible to miss! The cast all have very distinct personalities – Bobby is more reserved, while Freddy is always getting into trouble. Plus, with Freddy becoming a father soon, there are bound to be lots of new and unexpected difficulties for him to navigate.
Jeff is working hard to manage everything, and the show is nearing final approval. We’re almost ready to start production.
ITV is excited, predicting plenty of drama and conflict that could even overshadow shows like The Osbournes or the Kardashians.
