How Hailee Steinfeld’s Team Got Her Golden Globes Ready While She Was ‘A Little (Lot) Distracted’ By Josh Allen’s Game

The show Sinners—available to stream on HBO Max—was a winner at the 2026 Golden Globes, and its star, Hailee Steinfeld, presented at the awards ceremony. Steinfeld had a bit of a challenge getting ready, as her fiancé, football quarterback Josh Allen, was playing in a game at the same time. She recently described how her hair and makeup team worked to get her ready while she kept an eye on the game.

Hailee Steinfeld has talked about the challenges of balancing her career with her husband’s NFL schedule, explaining that it requires careful planning to be there for him. Recently, she had to miss one of his playoff games because she was presenting at the Golden Globes. In a new post on her Substack newsletter, Beau Society, Steinfeld admitted she was quite preoccupied with preparing for the awards show while her husband was playing.

On the night of the Golden Globes, there was a really exciting TV event that I’m sure many of you were watching too. Unfortunately, it started at the same time as the awards show, so I found it hard to focus on the glamour!

It must have been incredibly stressful for Steinfeld, getting ready while her husband played such an important game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s easy to see why the popular actress seemed distracted and was rooting for the Buffalo Bills to win. I like to think she was sending her husband, the team’s MVP, good luck from her dressing room during the AFC Wild Card playoff game.

Although Hailee Steinfeld was caught up watching Josh Allen play in the playoffs, her amazing makeup and styling team helped her refocus and get ready. She shared how much she appreciated their support and creativity.

Let me tell you, working with a glam team on a fast-paced project is a lifesaver. My stylist, Andrew Fitzsimons, was especially great – he was constantly making sure I didn’t accidentally singe myself with the hot tools, which, with everything going on, was a real possibility! He’d give me a heads-up every time a curling iron or something was getting close to my face. It’s the little things, you know?

Huge thanks to Fitzsimons for taking care of the Oscar nominee! Getting burned by a flat iron definitely wouldn’t have been good. Just like Josh Allen stayed focused during a game, Steinfeld needed to power through while getting her makeup done for the event.

It’s hard to imagine anyone applying makeup while trying to watch the Bills game! Steinfeld explained how she managed to get ready despite the distraction:

Let me tell you, watching Ash apply her eyeliner during commercial breaks was a sight! And Tom? Honestly, I have no idea how he managed to paint my nails while I was practically a hummingbird, but he did. That’s what I call a dream team – total pros who just get it done, even under pressure.

It was smart of the actress to wait until commercial break to fix her makeup or review her lines. I found it endearing that Steinfeld kept fidgeting during her manicure – she was understandably anxious for her husband, and you can’t fault her for that.

Hailee Steinfeld truly shone at the event, looking stunning in a peach Prada gown. She also proudly showed off her baby bump! The actress recently announced her pregnancy with a heartwarming video of her and her husband, and it’s wonderful to see her embracing this exciting new chapter as a wife and mother. It seems Steinfeld is entering a fantastic phase of life, and she’s clearly enjoying it.

Josh Allen also had a great night, leading the Buffalo Bills to a 27-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars – their first playoff victory on the road in over three decades. Although the Bills have since been eliminated from the playoffs, it was a memorable evening for him and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld.
