Here’s a quick summary of the first day of the MLBB M7 World Championship knockout stage, which took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, in case you weren’t able to watch it live.
The first day of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship’s Knockout Stage delivered exciting matches. The competition is heating up between the strong teams from the Philippines and Indonesia, with representatives from both regions facing each other early on. Because both countries have so many skilled players, the quarterfinals—in both the upper and lower brackets—are looking incredibly challenging for all the teams still in the running.
That said, here is a quick recap of the matches for the M7 World Championship Knockout Stage Day 1.
M7 Knockout Stage Day 1 Recap
Aurora Gaming PH vs Team Liquid PH
Game 1
The first game saw Team Liquid PH initially take the lead, thanks to strong team fighting from Alston “Sanji” Pabico playing Pharsa. However, Aurora Gaming PH eventually gained momentum with Jan “Domengkite” Delmundo’s Granger, who helped them take important objectives and gain control of the map. The decisive moment came around the 23-minute mark when Aurora secured the Lord and used it to quickly push down the middle lane, winning the first game of their M7 Knockout Stage match.
Game 2
During Game 2, Domengkite chose the hero Freya to try and defeat Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Claude. However, RORA had a difficult start, with Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz playing a key role in relieving pressure and keeping Team Liquid PH steady. By eight minutes, Team Liquid PH had gained a significant advantage, leading by 6,000 gold and with a kill score of 6-2. At the twelve-minute mark, a risky attack from RORA failed, leading to their entire team being eliminated. This allowed Team Liquid PH to push forward and tie the series.
Game 3
The third and final game was much more carefully played, with lots of small fights but fewer players being eliminated. The first big turning point came at the 12-minute mark during a fight over a powerful monster, where Team Liquid PH took the lead thanks to Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno. This allowed them to quickly gain control of the map, destroying several of RORA’s towers. However, Aurora fought back in the next team fight, completely wiping out TLPH and regaining the advantage. This final victory secured the series win for Aurora, sending Team Liquid PH to the lower bracket of the M7 Knockout Stage Quarterfinals.
Aurora Gaming Turkey vs Yangon Galacticos
Game 1
Aurora Gaming Turkey came out strong in Game 1, with Ahmet “Rosa” Batır choosing Yve, a champion he’s known for. Yangon Galacticos responded by having Kaung “Lina” Khant play Zhuxin, but they had trouble making an early impact. Aurora consistently pressured Yangon in team fights and quickly gained an advantage. This lead grew significantly around the eight-minute mark when Lukasz “Pagu” Bigus got a triple kill with Hilda.
Yangon Galacticos tried to take control of the map, but Aurora repeatedly stopped them. Around 14 minutes into the game, Yangon Galacticos managed to eliminate three Aurora players and quickly destroy a Lord, briefly tying the score and giving them a small advantage. However, Aurora quickly regained control of the map, solidified their position, and won the first game in 20 minutes.
Game 2
The second game quickly changed when Aurora’s Yi Sun-shin, played by Tienzy, immediately pressured and stole the blue buff from YG’s Joy (Hiann). This early setback severely hampered YG’s strategy and led to a difficult start. By three minutes in, Tienzy had a commanding lead with a 3/0/1 score, and Aurora continued to control the map, limiting YG’s ability to gain resources.
Around seven minutes into the game, Aurora briefly faltered, letting Kyaw “Blink” Thuya’s Tigreal create an opening and shift the advantage. The match stayed close until the 22-minute mark, when Blink made another mistake trying to initiate a team fight. Aurora quickly took advantage, eliminating the entire opposing team, and then pushed down the middle lane to win the series in the first day of the M7 Knockout Stage.
Selangor Red Giants vs Team Spirit
Game 1
The first game started with both teams equally matched, and both were eager to take chances to gain a slight edge. Selangor Red Giants took an early lead by securing the Turtle around the seven-minute mark, giving them a gold advantage of 2,000. However, Team Spirit stayed in the game thanks to strong plays from Stanislav “SAWO” Reshniak, who consistently pressured the opposing team with his hero, Hilda, both in individual matchups and during team fights.
Team Spirit briefly gained an advantage around 13 minutes, successfully taking down three of SRG’s players in exchange for letting them secure the Lord. However, SRG quickly regained control by consistently winning team fights around objectives, which allowed them to take over the map and gain a resource lead. By 20 minutes, Team Spirit’s base was vulnerable on all fronts, leaving them with limited options. SRG then capitalized on this with a final push using the Lord, securing the first win of the series.
Game 2
In Game 2 of their M7 Knockout Stage match, John “Innocent” Banal went back to playing Sora for Selangor Red Giants. But it was Muhammad “Yums” Suhairi, playing Badang, who quickly stood out. His perfectly timed walls led to several successful takedowns, giving his team an increasing lead. While Team Spirit tried to initiate fights, they were consistently stopped by Hazziq “Stormie” Rizwan’s powerful Pharsa, who easily controlled the team fights. By 16 minutes, Team Spirit hadn’t made much headway, and soon after, they fell apart. Selangor Red Giants finished the series with a decisive 2–0 win.
Alter Ego vs ONIC ID
Game 1
The first game started with Alter Ego taking an early lead thanks to Syauki “Nino” Sumarno choosing the Sora hero, which allowed them to play very aggressively. However, ONIC ID fought back by challenging Alter Ego for important objectives later in the game and winning key fights that leveled the playing field. Even so, Alter Ego was still ahead, leading 10-4 in terms of kills after 14 minutes.
Just a minute later, a major team fight turned the game in Alter Ego’s favor, with ONIC ID losing three players and all their previous progress. Alter Ego quickly took advantage of this by getting the Lord, a powerful unit that destroyed ONIC ID’s defenses on the top side and opened up their base. This led to an overwhelming attack that ONIC ID couldn’t defend against, allowing Alter Ego to win the first game of their M7 Knockout Stage match.
Game 2
The second game started with both teams equally matched. ONIC ID’s player, Lutpiii, playing as Alice, quickly became a dominant force, earning six kills within the first eight minutes. Alter Ego struggled to defeat him, and this forced them to play defensively. ONIC ID used this advantage to gradually gain control and destroy Alter Ego’s turrets.
Even though ONIC ID started to gain an advantage, Alter Ego held on, despite their base being vulnerable by the 17-minute mark. A tough team fight proved to be the turning point, with Muhammad “Yazukee” Wahyudi’s skillful Fanny play securing the Lord for Alter Ego, allowing them to push back. ONIC ID tried a risky backdoor attack at 23 minutes, but Alter Ego quickly stopped it, eliminating their entire team, and then capitalized by pushing to finish the game and win the series.
