Ariarne Titmus marks anniversary with boyfriend at Australian Open date night after quitting swimming for love

Ariarne Titmus has begun a new chapter in her life, stepping away from competitive swimming and enjoying a new relationship.

Four-time Olympic gold medalist Mac Powell and his partner enjoyed a stylish night out at the Australian Open in Melbourne on Sunday.

The 25-year-old woman looked radiant and affectionate with her partner as they settled in to watch a tennis match.

Ariarne looked stylish in a short, pale yellow dress. It had a halter neckline and was paired with a large, low-hanging belt.

She showed off her trim pins in the fitted number, adding a pair of white patent heels to the look.

The swimmer carried a stylish shoulder bag and completed the look with a few gold accessories, like small hoop earrings.

Mac, an investment analyst in Melbourne, looked effortlessly stylish in a white shirt, dark jeans, and beige loafers.

The couple marked a special occasion – they first became public with their relationship at the Australian Open tennis tournament back in January.

Last year, Ariarne surprised everyone by announcing her retirement from swimming. She explained she was leaving to focus on personal priorities that were now more important to her.

She later clarified exactly what those things are: her new love Mac, and her family.

Ariarne Titmus explained to News Corp that being a successful athlete requires a lot of self-focus, which was a key factor in her decision-making process. She said you essentially have to be somewhat selfish to prioritize the demands of the sport.

I used to be okay with missing birthdays and family gatherings, prioritizing other things. However, I realized I didn’t want to return to a life where I consistently put my family last.

She added that she also met her partner shortly after the Olympics in Paris, and she wasn’t prepared to sacrifice that relationship for anything.

I’m only able to make this choice because of my success as an Olympic champion and world record holder. Without those achievements, I would be making a different decision.

I felt ready to retire because I knew I’d given everything I possibly could to the sport. Winning more medals wouldn’t have changed how I felt about my accomplishments, so it just felt like the right moment to move on.

Titmus last year revealed that she has moved to the Victorian capital to be with her man.

‘It just happened this week, new beginnings, a fresh start, a new chapter,’ she said.

Mac and I are currently living together. Moving from Queensland was difficult, but I have family in Melbourne, and many of my friends have relocated here from Tasmania.

Ariarne Titmus is now working in television and will be featured in the new reality show ‘SHARK!’ on Channel Nine.

Honestly, seeing her happy just makes my day! She said she’s really loving life and, get this, she loves working on TV! I’m seriously hoping she does a ton more projects – I’ll be watching everything, of course! It’s just amazing to see her doing what she loves.
