HBO’s Most Anticipated Show of 2026 Euphoria Returns to the Charts Ahead of Long-Awaited Season 3

HBO remains a major force in television, and that’s expected to continue in 2026. The network is already seeing success with popular shows and is performing well on streaming platforms worldwide, especially with the upcoming premiere of its third season.

According to FlixPatrol, the series Euphoria is currently a top ten streaming hit on HBO Max in 48 countries. It’s ranked number four in the United States and number two in Brazil. Euphoria also appears on the top ten lists for Apple TV, Chili, and OSN, across a total of thirteen countries on those platforms.

Created by Sam Levinson and based on the Israeli series Oforia by Ron Leshem and Daniel Amsel, Euphoria first aired on HBO in 2019 and quickly became a popular and provocative teen drama. The show features Zendaya as Ruby “Rue” Bennett, a young woman trying to navigate life and relationships after getting out of rehab.

Besides Zendaya, Euphoria boasts a talented cast including Eric Dane, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Colman Domingo, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi. The second season introduced several new characters, like Laurie, played by Martha Kelly, and Faye, played by Chloe Cherry.

So far, Euphoria consists of 16 episodes and two special installments over two seasons. The show has consistently earned excellent reviews from both critics and viewers, and has been nominated for over 80 major awards, winning 28 of them. Currently, Euphoria has an 87% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on almost 200 verified critic reviews.

What Can Fans Expect from Euphoria Season 3?

As a huge Euphoria fan, I’m counting down the days until Season 3 finally arrives in April! It’s been over four years since the last season, and honestly, it feels like forever. I remember hearing back in October that Sam Levinson had a lot planned for the new season, but even he wasn’t entirely sure what it would all look like. It’s going to be epic, and I think it’s easily one of the most exciting releases HBO has planned in years!

Elordi recently shared that each actor on the show focuses on their own individual plotline, and he isn’t privy to what others are doing. Because of this, he’s looking forward to watching the show as a regular viewer for the first time, experiencing the story alongside everyone else, and he’s really excited about that.

I remember reading an interview where someone asked about the possibility of Euphoria continuing beyond Season 3, and she was so playfully tight-lipped! She wouldn’t give anything away. But when they asked her if she’d personally want to do a Season 4, she admitted that if there were more stories to explore with these characters, she’d absolutely be on board. She really loves the show and wants to keep telling these stories if she can – which is so lovely to hear!

The new season jumps ahead in time and hints at ongoing challenges for the characters as they grow up. We see Rue escaping to Mexico to deal with a debt owed to a drug dealer named Laurie, and Casey starting work on OnlyFans while still involved with Nate. Their relationship eventually leads to marriage sometime in the future.

You can now watch Euphoria on HBO Max. The third season is scheduled to premiere on April 12th.
