Cyclops (James Marsden)
The biggest highlight of the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer is James Marsden’s appearance as Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops. At the 47-second mark, fans finally get to see him in the costume they’ve been waiting 26 years for. The suit is based on the famous 1991 design by Jim Lee, with a dark blue base and striking yellow accents.
The costume features the iconic yellow X-shaped chest harness and practical pouches. Marvel designed it with a smooth, updated look that keeps the bright yellow and blue colors striking without appearing overly theatrical. As a longtime fan, I was SO excited to finally see Hugh Jackman in the classic Wolverine suit in Deadpool & Wolverine! After nine movies, he finally rocked the yellow and blue! The MCU version is a really cool take – it’s got blue shoulder pads, gloves, and boots, and the suit itself looks like something he’d actually wear into battle, with a really textured, protective feel.
The standout element was the realistic depiction of Logan’s mask, complete with glowing, animated eyes – something many filmmakers thought couldn’t be done effectively in a live-action movie. As a huge film fan, I’ve been really impressed with the work they’re putting into the new X-Men movie.
