Maya Jama turned heads in a stunning black dress while revealing her outfit for the latest episode of Love Island All Stars on Friday.
The highly anticipated cricket series between South Africa and the visiting team began Thursday night, after being delayed by recent wildfires.
Maya started the season with a daring and striking look, turning heads in a tight-fitting lace dress.
After Maya appeared with a bold new style, the show’s host had to clarify that she hadn’t actually gotten new teeth.
Fans were quick to point out a change in Maya’s appearance, claiming she has had her teeth done.
Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online lately about my smile! People on X have been commenting, asking what I’ve done with my teeth, and some are even saying I got what they call ‘Turkey teeth’. Honestly, I’m a little surprised by the reaction – I loved my old smile too, but I wanted to make a change. It’s all about feeling confident and happy with how you look, and I’m really pleased with the results. It’s interesting how much attention a little cosmetic work can get!
In a comment that has since been removed, Maya responded to criticism by saying she doesn’t have veneers – she’s actually wearing braces, both behind her upper teeth and on the outside of her lower teeth.
I wasn’t upset with the person who wronged me, but you can’t make everyone happy. Last season, people were messaging me, claiming they were being cheated.
“Turkey teeth” is a popular term for dental veneers that look overly white and don’t appear natural.
This news follows her statement that she doesn’t intend to leave Love Island, even though she’s hoping to pursue acting in The Gentleman.
The show host confessed she’s always secretly wanted to be an actress, a dream that started when she was a teenager and didn’t get a role on the show Skins after an audition.
Skins is a British TV show about the lives of teenagers in Bristol, England, as they navigate their last two years of high school.
As the new season of Love Island: All Stars begins, Maya shared in an interview with Variety that she previously believed contestants could get everything they wanted from the show within two years, and then it was time to move on.
With the continued success of Love Island though, she has confessed that she has no plans to leave.
She explained that with a popular show like Love Island constantly gaining viewers, now wouldn’t be a good time to leave.
‘It’s not my whole life and it’s fun, so I think as long as I enjoy it, I’ll keep it up.’
She explained that, like all the other actors, she had to audition for the role in The Gentleman.
She admitted she’d always been interested in acting, and she saw the show as a good way to start.
