Todd And Julie Chrisley Got Real About The Masked Singer Referencing Their Prison Time: ‘We’re Not Running From That’

Todd and Julie Chrisley have been released from prison after receiving pardons and are returning to television. Following a season on Lifetime, they’re scheduled to appear as ‘The Croissants’ on the 2026 season of The Masked Singer. Though the show playfully referenced their time in prison during their brief appearance, the Chrisleys told TopMob they were completely comfortable with it.

Even though they were eliminated early in the second episode, they lasted longer on the show than their daughter, Savannah, who didn’t fare well in Season 11. I wondered if they were bothered by the constant mentions of their past imprisonment, but Todd Chrisley summed it up perfectly when I asked him, saying:

This is our story, and we own it. If we hadn’t addressed it ourselves, the media would have likely focused on past mistakes and painted us as privileged. That’s not who we are, and it’s not the image we want to project.

The Chrisleys are openly acknowledging their previous convictions, and they aren’t attempting to keep them secret. I agree with Todd Chrisley that if they appeared on The Masked Singer without any mention of their pardons or past legal issues, it would immediately become the biggest topic of conversation.

The Chrisleys are openly hoping their appearances on shows like The Masked Singer will inspire the hundreds of thousands of people in federal prisons by showing them that life after prison can still be positive and fulfilling.
