Spider-Man 4 Trailer Release Date Update Shows a Brand New Day Is Soon

Sony may finally be ready to officially release the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

In late December 2025, a preliminary version of the “Brand New Day” trailer appeared online. Fans anticipated Sony would quickly release an official version on social media, as they’d done with other leaked trailers before. However, that didn’t happen. According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, Sony intended to hold off on releasing the trailer until 2026.

What is the Spider-Man 4 trailer release date update?

With 2026 approaching, it seems Sony is gearing up to start promoting the new Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day.” Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that a trailer release might be happening very soon – possibly within days. While a specific date isn’t known yet, Perez suggests recent activity indicates an announcement is likely coming shortly.

Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man in the latest Marvel movie. The film continues the story after the events of ‘No Way Home,’ where everyone forgot Peter Parker’s identity. This allows Spider-Man to be more like the character from the original comic books.

Destin Daniel Cretton took over directing duties from Jon Watts for the movie Brand New Day. Filming started in August 2025 and finished in December of the same year.

Although Sony and Marvel are being secretive about the story, the new movie is anticipated to be more realistic than the dimension-hopping adventure seen in No Way Home. Scorpion and Tombstone have been confirmed as villains. Michael Mando will return as Scorpion, a role he previously played in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Marvin Jones III will play Tombstone.

Mark Ruffalo will return as the Hulk, and Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher in the film. There are rumors that the Punisher will be tasked with keeping Jean Grey safe from Damage Control. Rounding out the cast are Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman.

The new Spider-Man movie, titled ‘Brand New Day,’ is expected to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
