Robbie Williams unexpectedly dropped his new album, BRITPOP, three weeks ahead of schedule, delighting his fans.
The album was unexpectedly released early Friday morning, and its cover art was displayed on several well-known buildings around London to celebrate its launch.
Originally planned for an October release, Robbie’s album, BRITPOP, was delayed until February to avoid competing with Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated ‘Life Of A Showgirl.’ Robbie explained he didn’t want to go up against such a major artist.
For his thirteenth album, the singer returns to his roots, creating a guitar-focused sound reminiscent of the music that first inspired him when he began his solo career.
Robbie announced the album’s release with a playful message: ‘You guessed it was coming, then we changed our minds… but now it’s definitely here! Everyone, meet BRITPOP – the album.’
It follows 2019’s The Christmas Present and 2016’s non-festive The Heavy Entertainment Show.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited about BRITPOP! The new singles – ‘Rocket’, ‘Spies’, ‘Human’, ‘Pretty Face’, and ‘All My Life’ – are fantastic, and what really makes this project special is the incredible range of artists they’ve brought together. It’s a truly collaborative effort!
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this project boasts an incredible lineup of talent! We’ve got Chris Martin from Coldplay, the brilliant Gaz Coombes, a true legend in Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath, the amazing Mexican duo Jesse and Joy, and even Gary Barlow, who I used to work with back in the Take That days. It’s a real mix of iconic artists, and I think everyone will be surprised and delighted!
Robbie has previously shared that his album, BRITPOP, is a dream project he’s had since leaving Take That in 1995. It’s the album he always envisioned making after that point in his career.
He explained that he aimed to make the album he’d always envisioned after leaving Take That in 1995. It was a time when Britpop was at its height and British music was experiencing a really successful period.
This album was a dream come true – I got to collaborate with musicians I’ve always admired. It’s a really honest record, with a heavier guitar sound, and it’s generally more energetic and inspiring than my previous work.
The album definitely has a British influence and a strong pop sensibility, and I’m incredibly proud of it. I can’t wait for my fans to listen to it!
As a huge Robbie fan, I’m so excited that if BRITPOP hits number one, he’ll tie The Beatles’ record for the most UK albums to ever reach the top spot! It’s incredible to think his music could put him in such legendary company.
As a style enthusiast, I’m loving the throwback album artwork! It showcases that iconic red tracksuit Robbie Williams wore at Glastonbury back in ’95. It really takes me back! That was such a pivotal moment for him – he was partying with Liam Gallagher from Oasis, actually becoming friends for a short time, all while he was leaving Take That. It’s a fantastic visual reminder of a huge turning point in his career and a seriously cool fashion statement.

Despite any family bonds, Robbie’s relationships with his siblings were occasionally difficult, most notably when Noel famously called him the ‘fat dancer from Take That’.
Even though Robbie Williams and Oasis have often publicly argued, he’s always been a fan of their music and has said he wished his own band had created songs more like theirs instead of pop hits.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m so excited to share that Robbie Williams’ amazing Britpop tour launched in Edinburgh on May 31st! He’s taking the energy across Europe, hitting incredible cities in Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Sweden. It’s going to be a fantastic run!
He’s scheduled to perform in Glasgow in February, followed by shows in Liverpool, London, and Wolverhampton.
During these highly popular concerts, he’ll be performing both his first album, Life Thru A Lens, and his latest release, BRITPOP, from start to finish.
