With fans eager to celebrate his life and music, especially if 2025 brings his passing, there’s a strong desire to see more of him while he’s still with us – and he certainly deserves that recognition as a true icon.

Sony has been developing a movie about Ozzy Osbourne for six years, which is a long time for a film project. Usually, projects like this are either sold to a different studio or canceled after that many years. While other studios might be interested in making a film with the Osbourne family’s support, that won’t be possible unless the rights to his life story are transferred.

Jack Osbourne recently appeared on Billy Morrison’s SiriusXM show and briefly discussed the upcoming movie about his father, Ozzy. However, he didn’t offer any concrete details, sounding more like someone promoting a project he wasn’t fully informed about. Ultimately, there’s still no confirmed schedule for when the movie will be made and released.

There’s been talk that Yungblud could portray Ozzy Osbourne, especially since he’s been closely associated with the rock star recently. He performed at Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s farewell show, called Back to the Beginning, and also attended the funeral, leading to speculation about a possible future role.

Yungblud definitely has some talent, but it seems a bit of an exaggeration to call him a phenomenal actor, especially if he’s going to play Ozzy.

Jack Osbourne shared that the project is moving forward to its next stage. A director is now involved, though their name hasn’t been revealed yet, and the script is currently being revised. It’s common for movies to go through multiple rewrites, so this is a normal part of the process.

Look, as a gamer who’s been following this project, I think most of us Sabbath and Ozzy fans are just really waiting to hear who’s going to play Ozzy and who’s directing. That’s the stuff that actually gets us excited. Honestly, until those announcements happen, it feels like this movie might just stay a rumor.
