Knowing the stats and features of items in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and choosing the right ones, is key to playing well. Even though you can customize your item builds or copy builds from pro players, remember that every game is different, so you’ll need to adapt.
Items are key to winning or losing in Mobile Legends, and knowing how to build them effectively can greatly improve your chances of success. This guide will explore items as more than just numbers – we’ll show you how they can be powerful tools to help you play better.
What you choose to equip can really determine whether you win or lose a game. Every game is different, so it’s important to change up your selection of six items instead of using the same build every time. Tailoring your choices to the specific game is key. And remember, your emblem should work well with your items to help you get the most out of them in battle.
Mobile Legends (MLBB) Item Guide: Stats
Let’s start our Mobile Legends item guide with a look at basic stats and how they work. Understanding these fundamentals is key to making smart choices and developing effective strategies, even if you’re already familiar with the game.

| Magic Penetration (%) | Grants % Magic Penetration against enemies that cuts through Magic Resistance | Especially valuable late game when enemies have lots of Magic Resistance, also good against tanky teams |
| Magic Penetration (flat) | Reduces a flat amount of Magic Resistance of the enemy | Most efficient early/ against squishy targets due to low MR |
| Physical Penetration (%) | Grants % Physical Penetration and cuts through Armor | see Magic Penetration (%) |
| Physical Penetration (flat) | Reduces a flat amount of Armor of the enemy | see Magic Penetration (flat) |
| Physical Lifesteal | Provides % healing depending on the amount of damage dealt with Auto Attacks | Becomes more effective as the game progresses since more damage means more to Lifesteal off |

Mobile Legends (MLBB) Item Guide: Using Items to counter the Opponents
Now that we’ve discussed stats in this Mobile Legends guide, let’s move on to building your hero and choosing the right items. Before each game, quickly look at the enemy team to figure out which items will be most helpful.
Okay, so getting the right items quickly is super important, which means you really need to learn how to farm efficiently. I always try to peek at what the enemy team is building – it helps me figure out what I should buy next to stay ahead. And seriously, check out the guide on countering heroes – it’s packed with useful tips that can give you a real edge!
Sustain/ Durability
This ability or effect seems likely to be a consistent part of the game for a while. Because of the available healing, it’s a good strategy to have a teammate focus on countering it every match. Fortunately, there are three items that can help: one for dealing physical damage, one for increasing defense, and one for dealing magic damage.
Lowering the amount of health restored can make battles more dynamic, even if it means taking a little longer to finish them. It’s crucial to have at least one person on your team prepared to handle this change.
Sea Halberd

Necklace of Durance

- +60 Magic Power
- +300 HP
- +380 Mana
- +5% CD Reduction
- Unique Passive – Gift: Regens 20% HP and Mana within 2s of levelling up.
- Unique Passive – Lifebane: Upon dealing damage to the target, reduces Shield and HP Regen of the target by 50% for 3s.

- Unique Passive – Lifebane: Reduce the shield Shield and HP Regen effects of nearby enemy heroes to 50% of normal.
Health stacking
When fighting heavily armored tanks, you need a strategy to overcome their large health bars. Players who focus on physical damage can use items like the Demon Hunter Sword to quickly reduce the tank’s health, even though the armor will lessen some of the impact. Magic damage users can use items like the Glowing Wand to do significant damage as well. These items help ensure your attacks remain effective against these durable enemies.
Demon Hunter Sword

- +35 Physical Attack
- +25% Attack Speed
- Unique Passive – Devour: Basic attacks will deal 8% of the target’s current HP as additional physical damage (up to 60 against creeps and minions).
- Unique Passive – Devour: Each Basic Attack grants 3% Lifesteal for 3s. Stack up to 5 times.
Burst
Dealing with a lot of damage all at once can be tricky, but every character class has ways to cope with it. While classes like Mages and Marksmen focus on dealing damage themselves, it’s really important to survive the first hit. Getting defeated quickly makes it hard to fight back, so if you feel fragile, think about buying an item that boosts your defenses.
Okay, so Athena’s Shield is seriously good. It basically gives you a ton of extra health, which is amazing, and the stats are really strong, especially when you’re up against heroes who deal a lot of magic damage. But, heads up – it’s not super effective against Esmeralda. She can actually use that shield against you and heal herself with it, which kind of defeats the purpose!
Athena’s Shield

- +900 HP
- +2 HP Regen
- +62 Magic Defense
- Unique Passive – Shield: This can be triggered when taking Magic Damage. Reduces Magic Damage taken by 25% for 5s (including the Magic Damage that triggers this effect). You will be able to trigger this effect again only after leaving combat for 10s.
Marksmen can use the Wind of Nature to temporarily avoid all physical damage when caught in a quick attack. If you’re not a Marksman, Twilight Armor is a strong choice for defending against powerful late-game enemies like Aldous. Mages looking for both defense and mobility should consider Winter Truncheon. While it doesn’t offer as much raw defense, its ability allows you to dodge incoming attacks and quickly reposition yourself.
Twilight Armor

- +1200 HP
- +20 Physical Defense
- Unique Passive – Twilight: When taking more than 800 damage in a single hit, the excess amount will be reduced by 300 + 15% of Max HP. Cooldown: 5s.
Wind of Nature

- +30 Physical Attack
- +20% Attack Speed
- +10% Lifesteal
- Unique Active – Wind Chant: Immune to all Physical Damage. Last 2s. (Duration becomes half when used by non-marksmen).
- CD: 70s.
Winter Truncheon

- +400 HP
- +25 Physical Defense
- +60 Magic Power
- Unique Active – Frozen: Hero gets frozen upon activation. The hero can’t do anything but will be immune to all DMG and debuff. This will last 2s, CD 100s.
Defence Stacking
If your attacks aren’t doing enough damage because enemies are heavily defended, switch to Divine Glaive or Malefic Roar. These items are especially useful against opponents who build up their defenses – the tougher they are, the more powerful these items become. Think of them as a solution when your usual gear isn’t strong enough to break through.
Divine Glaive

- +65 Magic Power
- Unique Attribute: +40% Magic PEN
- Unique Passive – Spellbreaker: Each point of the enemy’s Magic Defense increases Magic Penetration by 0.1% when dealing damage to it, capped at 20%.
Genius Wand

- +75 Magic Power
- +5% Movement Speed
- Unique Attribute: +10 Magic PEN
- Unique Passive – Magic: Dealing damage to enemy heroes will reduce their Magic Defense by 2~9 for 2s (the Defense reduction scales with level). Stacks up to 3 times.
Malefic Roar

- +60 Physical Attack
- Unique Attribute: +20% Physical Penetration
- Unique Passive – Armor Buster: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.125% extra Physical Penetration to each point of the enemy’s Physical Defense, capped at 40%.
Mobile Legends (MLBB) Item Guide: Tips and Tricks
Now that we’ve covered the essentials of building effective items in Mobile Legends, we want to share some important details and helpful tips to help you succeed.
1. Unique traits and passives
If you purchase multiple items that have a similar, special ability – for example, two Bloodlust Axes – those special effects won’t combine. This means you won’t receive double the benefit, like 40% Spell Vamp. However, you’ll still get the standard stat boosts each item offers, such as increased Physical Attack and reduced Cooldowns.
2. How Penetration works
When defending against attacks – both regular and magical – flat damage reduction is applied before percentage-based reduction. Because of this, if you’re up against heavily armored opponents, you’ll need to decide quickly whether to get both the Genius Wand and Arcane Boots. If enemies have a lot of health and armor, it’s often better to skip the Genius Wand and build a Divine Glaive instead.
3. Strategic Timing
Knowing when to use items with special effects can really turn the tide of a match. Using them at key moments – like during team fights or when trying to secure important objectives such as the Lord or Turtle – can give your team a huge advantage.
A well-timed Wind of Nature can really turn the tide of a battle, especially when dodging powerful attacks. Working with your team to use these kinds of moves strategically can make a huge difference and help you win more often.
4. Flexible in Itemization
Be ready to change your items as the game goes on. If the situation shifts, don’t be afraid to sell or swap items to better suit what’s happening. Choosing the right items for the current moment is key to improving your chances of winning – it’s not enough to just have good items, they need to be useful now.
5. Immortality – why it’s not that great
Immortality is a common choice, but it’s not perfect. While it revives you, you come back with very little health, making you vulnerable to quick attacks. If you’re easily defeated, consider a defensive item like Athena’s Shield instead. However, Immortality can be incredibly useful for durable heroes or those who actively jump into fights. It gives them a second opportunity to fight or create a distraction. Ultimately, how effectively you use that second chance determines if Immortality is a good choice.
