Climbing the ranks in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is challenging. With so many strong heroes and skilled players, you’ll face tough competition. Because winning isn’t a sure thing, choosing which heroes to ban during the draft is really important. Here’s a quick look at the top 5 most banned heroes in Mobile Legends and why players fear facing them. Keep in mind that this ranking is mostly relevant for players at the Mythic rank and higher, and the most effective bans can change as the game evolves.
What are the most banned heroes in Mobile Legends ranked mode?
1. Floryn
Floryn is a relatively easy hero to learn in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but she’s frequently banned in Ranked matches because of her strong healing abilities. Her passive skill, Dew, constantly boosts her stats, and she can share a protective shield with teammates like the Jungler or Gold Laner whenever she heals them.
Now that she has the Flask of Oasis, she’s become a strong contender in ranked matches. Her ‘Sow’ ability deals magic damage and creates bouncing healing fruits for teammates, and ‘Sprout’ is a quick way to stun enemies.

Bloom is what makes this hero incredibly strong. It allows her to instantly heal all teammates, no matter where they are on the map, and also boosts their health and shield regeneration, making your team very difficult to defeat. Players can counter her by using high-damage heroes, as she’s relatively fragile, or by purchasing items that reduce healing, such as the Glowing Wand and Dominance Ice.
2. Hayabusa
Hayabusa is consistently one of the most banned heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang ranked matches. His skill, Ninjutsu: Trace of Shadow, allows him to mark enemies, increasing the damage he deals. He’s incredibly dangerous due to his exceptional mobility and ability to quickly eliminate vulnerable heroes, combined with his increasing damage output as the game progresses.

Dealing with Hayabusa is challenging because of his abilities. His Ninjutsu: Quad Shadow allows him to quickly move between his shadow clones, dealing extra damage in the process. Additionally, Ninjutsu: Phantom Shuriken lets him attack from a distance, slow opponents, and regain energy.
Hayabusa’s ultimate ability, Shadow Kill, is very powerful and can instantly defeat fragile heroes. It’s difficult to defend against, but heroes like Khufra, Lancelot, and Ling can be effective counters.
3. Granger
Granger has consistently been a top-tier hero since his release, excelling particularly in the Gold and Jungle lanes. He’s known for dealing significant damage quickly, moving around the map effectively with his skill Rondo, and efficiently clearing minion waves. This allows players to easily gain resources and perform well in both one-on-one situations and team battles.

The dash ability is great for both moving around and recharging your gun, letting you keep up a steady attack while staying safe. Combine that with his ultimate, Death Sonata, and the Sky Piercer item, and you can quickly take out vulnerable enemies or slow them down for an easy finish with his first skill.
However, you can effectively play against him using Assassin heroes such as Hayabusa and Lancelot, or Marksman heroes who are strong in the late game, like Obsidia or Lesley.
4. Kadita
Recently, Zhuxin was the most frequently banned hero, but Kadita has now surpassed her in popularity for bans. Kadita is particularly frustrating to play against, especially for Marksmen and Mages, due to her high damage and ability to stay alive. Her passive ability, which restores health after taking damage, is especially annoying.

I’m seriously impressed with her abilities, but her Ultimate, Rough Waves, is what really makes her stand out! It’s so strong, it almost feels like she’s an Assassin instead of a Mage. I mean, you can totally hide in the bushes, instantly take out most enemies, and then get away clean! If you want to beat her, you really need to pick an Assassin yourself, or someone like Yi Sun-Shin who can protect themselves from her damage.
5. Yu Zhong
Okay, so as a fighter main, I gotta say Yu Zhong is seriously strong in Mobile Legends, especially in the exp lane. That’s why he’s banned all the time, no matter what rank you’re in! Basically, his passive is awesome – it puts a stackable curse on enemies that deals more damage the less health they have. And the best part? It heals me and gives me a speed boost while it’s happening. It’s a really powerful combo!

Okay, so this hero is pretty strong overall, but his Ultimate, Furious Dive, is what really makes him scary when he ganks. It gives him awesome movement and crowd control, letting him jump into fights, mess up the enemy team’s formation, and quickly target those fragile backline heroes. He’s tough to deal with because he can heal and stay in the fight, but you can counter him by picking heroes like Cici, Thamuz, or late-game damage dealers like Obsidia, Brody, or Natan – they can really melt him fast.
