JJK’s Worst Character Already Created 2026’s Most Viral Anime Moment, & McDonald’s Is Cashing In

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular anime, and one of the main reasons why is its fantastic set of characters. While Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, and Ryomen Sukuna are the most well-known faces, the series boasts many other memorable characters, as the start of Season 3 clearly demonstrates.

The start of JJK Season 3 introduced a new character who immediately went viral thanks to a memorable fight with Choso, creating the year’s first big anime meme in 2026. During the battle, Naoya Zenin – the arrogant and prejudiced youngest member of the Zenin Clan – briefly demonstrated the impressive power of Projection Sorcery, adding a unique and unforgettable moment for anime fans.

Naoya Zenin’s Hair Flip Has Spawned a Massive Wave of Online Parodies

Projection Sorcery is a particularly striking Cursed Technique in Jujutsu Kaisen. While Naobito Zenin’s use of it was already impressive in Season 2, his brother Naoya’s application is even more spectacular. He adds a flair for the dramatic, casually flipping his hair while defeating the Cursed Womb Death Painting.

Even though many viewers dislike Naoya’s cocky attitude, his fight with Choso was incredibly exciting. This is clear from the countless fan-made videos of his simple hair flip that have circulated online since the latest episode of JJK aired.

A recent attack from the anime Jujutsu Kaisen has become a huge online trend, with fans creating and sharing edits set to music from shows like Sonic the Hedgehog and Dragon Ball Z. The trend became so popular that even McDonald’s joined in, posting their own version of the attack’s iconic pose.

Jujutsu Kaisen often creates popular online moments, but the response to Season 3 has been exceptionally strong, even for this series. Season 3 is looking very promising, and the anime may currently have more buzz than ever before.

Naoya Doesn’t Deserve Any Credit, But JJK Is Off to an Incredibly Hot Start

It’s frustrating to watch a self-centered character like Naoya Zenin get so much focus, especially when a popular meme from the series comes from such an awesome and intense scene. Even though fans dislike him, Naoya has a strangely captivating presence, like when he casually fixes his hair.

It’s understandable that the meme about his fight with Choso involves swapping out Naoya – it prevents the villain’s face from becoming overly widespread online. However, Jujutsu Kaisen certainly deserves any increase in popularity it receives, and it’s well-positioned to become a huge hit, assuming production continues smoothly like it did with Season 2.

Given what we know about Jujutsu Kaisen and the author Gege Akutami’s habit of making arrogant characters suffer, Naoya Zenin is likely to face even worse consequences than he did in his fight with Choso. Akutami often delivers harsh comeuppance, and Naoya probably won’t be spared.
