SNK is keeping up its habit of quickly releasing content after announcing it. Season 2 for FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is coming very soon!

The first fighter is available now, and new characters will be added monthly. FATAL FURY Season 2 aims to maintain a high level of excitement, and two new, enigmatic challengers are joining the fight!

Season 2 characters in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves

The official announcement reveals four names in Season 2. All come from previous FATAL FURY games.

  • Kim Jae Hoon: A Taekwondo fighter, a younger brother of Kim Dong Hwan. He follows the rushdown archetype, using the fire magic to add extra damage.
  • Nightmare Geese: A resurrected version of the main antagonist, Geese Howard. He is known as a boss, and his overpowered moves should be a real threat.
  • Blue Mary: A private detective in South City who uses the brutal Commando Sambo for her fights. Blue Mary is a hybrid of grappler and rushdown. The girl is also present in The King of Fighters XV.
  • Wolfgang Krauser: A mighty villain who considers battles artistic symphonies. He is a younger half-brother of Geese Howard. Wolfgang combines fighting traditions of German wrestling and ancient Greek combat. His hits are extremely strong and deal massive damage.

Release dates: Monthly character drops

No other fighting game is getting new content at this rate. Starting in January, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is releasing a new character every month, with Season 2 planned to finish in June. SNK aims to release the final character right around the time of Evo 2024.

  • Kim Jae Hoon joins the game on Jan. 22. He is the first DLC character of FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Season 2.

Developers have released update 1.7.2 for Season 2 of FATAL FURY, focusing on balancing the game. They aim to create more strategic and competitive battles with this update.

Who are the mysterious challengers in FATAL FURY Season 2?

Okay, so the Season 2 trailer showed these two shadowy wolf-like characters, and everyone’s trying to figure out who they are. The developers, FATAL FURY, are being super secretive, but SNK has been dropping hints about a crossover with Fist of the North Star. Honestly, most of us think one of those wolves is Kenshiro from that series – it just makes sense! It’s the big theory going around right now.

How to unlock FATAL FURY CotW Season 2

All these new characters are part of Season Pass 2 in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves.

The first Season Pass was included with the original game as the sole Special Edition option.

With the upcoming new content release, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will launch its official esports league, the SNK World Championship. Laggia was the champion of the inaugural championship event in 2025.

At the end of January, the game will be present at Frosty Faustings XVIII: from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1.
