2 Fan-Favorite Justice League Members Get New Series

As a huge DC fan, I’m really excited to hear they’re planning even more series for 2026! They’ve just announced two new solo shows focusing on heroes we already know and love – characters who are famous for being part of the Justice League, but also have dedicated fans all their own. It’s great to see DC giving these heroes their own spotlight!

These two new comic series are launching as part of DC’s Next Level initiative, which focuses on giving solo stories to characters who don’t usually get them. The Next Level line already includes comics featuring Batwoman, Lobo, and Deathstroke.

What Justice League heroes are getting new solo comics?

DC’s Next Level line recently launched with two new titles: Fury of Firestorm and Zatanna. Fury of Firestorm focuses on the Nuclear Man, a hero created when two people are merged with atomic power. The story, written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Rafael De Latorre, begins with Ronnie Raymond trying to establish a life in Bedford, Colorado. However, Firestorm soon appears and starts causing trouble with his ability to change things into other forms. A key part of the series will be figuring out why this former Justice League member is suddenly attacking the town.

The new Zatanna comic will follow the adventures of the powerful magician and superhero as she steps into the role of Earth’s Prime Magus. Written and illustrated by Jamal Campbell – who previously worked on the 2025 Zatanna miniseries – the story continues directly after that series, showing Zatanna juggling her magical duties with her career as a stage performer and her responsibilities as a member of the Justice League.

Fury of Firestorm #1 releases on April 1, 2026. Zatanna #1 releases on April 29, 2026.
