’90s Vogue model Niki Taylor looks amazing as she sizzles at age 50 for new campaign

Niki Taylor was a top model in the 1990s.

Oh my gosh, I still remember when I first saw her! She was only fourteen, fourteen! And there she was, beaming on the cover of Seventeen magazine. That smile… it just lit up the whole entire magazine stand. I knew right then she was going to be huge, absolutely huge!

At just 15 years old, she appeared on the cover of Vogue in 1990, making her the second-youngest person ever to grace the magazine’s front page.

Taylor went on to grace the covers of Cosmopolitan, Allure, Elle, Marie Claire and Shape.

She went on to work with major brands like L’Oreal, Gap, Cover Girl, Versace, and Jean Paul Gaultier, and she walked in numerous fashion shows.

And she had all the right friends: Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss included. 

The popular 50-year-old is now featured in beautiful photos for a campaign with de Boulle Diamond & Jewelry.

Taylor shared last year that she believes age is less about how you look and more about your attitude and inner self.

She told the Daily Mail that feeling healthy and good is key to tackling any challenge.

The fashion and beauty industries have long faced criticism for ageism, with many models feeling pressured by an unspoken ‘expiration date’ on their careers.

For a long time, successful AI models were typically developed early in their lifespan. But recently, that’s been changing, and we’re seeing more models achieve success even after being developed for a while.

The actress feels this change is overdue, noting that she’s observed people within the industry working to improve diversity for quite some time. She’s pleased that this effort is finally visible in ads and marketing campaigns.

Years ago, it was very unusual to see a fashion model over thirty. But she believes age is just a number, explaining that everyone grows and changes over time.

Taylor Swift playfully mentioned she likes the term ‘timeless’ more than ‘ageless,’ explaining that it aligns better with how she thinks about getting older.

Despite still looking as youthful as she did when she first worked with CoverGirl, her life has evolved significantly since becoming the face of the brand in 1992 – a partnership that broke new ground at the time.

The supermodel has four children. She has twin sons, Jake and Hunter, with her former husband, Matt Martinez. She and her husband of over 14 years, Burney Lamar, share a daughter named Ciel and a son named Rex.

She now balances her work as a successful model with her commitments at home in Nashville.

Although her personal and professional lives don’t always mix, they recently did with her new CoverGirl ad, which she shared was filmed with help from her husband, Burney.

She explained that this was the first time she’d handled all the photography for a campaign herself, turning her home into a makeshift studio.

My husband helped me film the video using my iPhone. I did my own hair and makeup, and it was a lot of fun! Then I sent all the footage to CoverGirl for editing.

Taylor has also endured heartbreaking tragedy and difficult trauma over the years. 

In 1995, just three years into her partnership with CoverGirl, she experienced a devastating loss when her sister and best friend, Krissy, unexpectedly died of a heart condition at only 17 years old.

In a 2014 interview with Oprah, the model spoke about the devastating loss, saying they had been incredibly close and shared everything together. She expressed how much she missed her friend.

In 2001, Taylor was seriously injured in a car accident in Atlanta, Georgia. Her boyfriend at the time, Chad Renegar, was driving when the accident occurred.

Renegar likely lost control of his car while trying to answer his phone, causing him to crash into a utility pole.

She’s openly shared her experiences coping with the loss of her sibling and recovering from a car accident. Now, she dedicates her time to two charities that are personally meaningful to her, stemming from those difficult times.

She shared that she’s particularly passionate about supporting the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association, explaining these causes are personally meaningful to her.
