The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps growing with new movies and shows available in theaters and on Disney+. One of the most eagerly awaited upcoming films is Avengers: Doomsday, particularly after a few short previews were shown. The Russo Brothers suggested these clips contained a major clue about the movie, and fans now believe they’ve figured it out – and they could very well be right.
Details about Avengers: Doomsday are scarce, so the short trailers released online quickly became popular. They began with a glimpse of Captain America, followed by teasers featuring Thor, the X-Men, and Wakanda. According to IGN, the key to understanding the hints hidden within these trailers lies in the countdown to Doomsday that appears at the end of each one.
A popular theory, starting on Reddit, suggests the countdowns in the new teasers aren’t random. Fans believe the starting number of each countdown corresponds to a specific scene from the movie Avengers: Endgame. For example, the Captain America teaser begins at 1:24:20, matching the timestamp of a scene with The Ancient One in Endgame where she discusses the risks of time travel and alternate realities. This connection might hint at the origins of Robert Downey Jr.’s character, Doctor Doom, and his plans involving the multiverse.

Disney+ offers access to all Marvel Cinematic Universe content, including both movies and TV shows. You can start streaming with ads for as little as $11.99 per month. For an ad-free experience, it’s $18.99 monthly, or you can save 16% by paying $189.99 for an annual subscription. See the deal here.
A timecode hidden in the trailer for the new Thor movie points to a specific moment in Avengers: Endgame – the scene where Loki steals the Tesseract. This connection is significant because it directly led to the creation of the Loki series and has major implications for the unfolding multiverse.
A clip from Black Panther appears to contain a hidden timestamp reading 1:04:20. This time corresponds to a scene in Endgame where Rocket tells Ant-Man he’s taking him to space. Because the teaser also features Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, fans believe this is a hint that the Fantastic Four will arrive via their spaceship.

This is just a possibility, so it’s best not to take it as fact right now. However, fans are eager to see how the actors from Doomsday will work together, and they’re speculating about what The Russo Brothers are planning for the new movie. Hopefully, a complete trailer for the next Avengers film will be released soon and give us a better idea of what the story will be about.
Fans will finally get answers when Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18th, as part of the 2026 film lineup. With recent movie disappointments, there’s a lot riding on this project, and it will face stiff competition from Dune: Part Three, which is also scheduled to be released on that same day.
