Aidan Turner turns up the heat as he stars in a seductive new West End revival of Les Liaisons Dangereuses

Oh my goodness, Aidan Turner! It all started with Poldark, and him taking his shirt OFF – I nearly fainted! Then, he just…kept being amazing. He played this ridiculously charming guy, Declan O’Hara, in Rivals, and honestly, the moustache just completed him. It was based on a book, and let me tell you, it was steamy, but Aidan made it even better. I’m completely obsessed!

Still sporting his famous moustache, the actor is now set to captivate West End audiences in a stage version of Les Liaisons Dangereuses with his undeniable charm.

Dangerous Liaisons, a steamy story of betrayal, revenge, and seduction among the French upper class in the 1790s, was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 1988.

In this stage adaptation, 42-year-old Turner plays the manipulative Vicomte de Valmont, a role famously portrayed by John Malkovich in the movie. Lesley Manville, 69, takes on the part of the Marquise de Merteuil, a strong and vengeful character played by Glenn Close in the 1988 film.

Monica Barbaro, a 35-year-old American actress known for her role as Joan Baez in the 2024 film about Bob Dylan, A Complete Unknown, will play the character of Madame de Tourvel – a role previously portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer in the movie adaptation. This will be Barbaro’s stage debut, as she has not performed on stage before.

The play runs from March 21 to June 6 at The National Theatre.

You can find the complete feature in the February issue of British Vogue, which will be available digitally and in stores starting Tuesday, January 20th.
