Overwatch 2’s new story mode now has its first piece of content! A short video called “Lore Drop: Invitation,” narrated by Winston, provides a story recap. It covers key events like the Omnic Crisis, the disbanding of Overwatch, battles with Null Sector, and the gathering of heroes – both familiar faces and new ones – at Watchpoint Gibraltar. Winston concludes by formally inviting players to join them there.

Is Anran Hero 46 in Overwatch 2?

The way the camera focuses on Anran during Winston’s invitation to Watchpoint: Gibraltar is intriguing. This could be a hint that Anran will be the next playable hero in Overwatch 2. In the game’s story, Anran is Wuyang’s older sister and has the power to control fire.

Who is Anran in Overwatch 2?

So, I recently learned that Wuyang’s sister, Anran, is actually a really big deal in the Overwatch 2 lore! She’s the older sibling and a total star student at Wuxing University’s Fire College. It’s kinda funny because Wuyang had a hard time getting into the Fire College and ended up at the Water College, but Anran totally crushed it and became a seriously skilled fighter, carrying on the family’s legacy. It’s cool to see that sibling dynamic playing out in the game’s backstory.

When Null Sector attacked their school, Wuyang and Anran had a falling out and went off on their own. But when Wuyang learned his sister was in danger, he used his powers over water to come to her rescue. Working together, they battled their attackers and were eventually happy to be reunited with their parents.

Overwatch 2 Anran voice lines and interactions

Adding Anran to the hero lineup would be exciting, as she and another player would become the second set of siblings in the game, similar to Hanzo and Genji. Her relationships and conversations with Wuyang and the other heroes could be really interesting. Currently, Wuyang already has some unique lines he says when interacting with Hanzo and Genji that seem to hint at Anran.

Man, my sister really laid into me yesterday. I wish she’d just ease up sometimes! Genji, though, he’s always saying you gotta appreciate those moments… and I guess he’s right, you really do miss them when they’re gone.

Hanzo sighed, saying Wuyang reminded him of his brother when he was younger. Wuyang playfully asked if his brother was also good-looking, charming, and funny. Hanzo clarified that his brother, like Wuyang, had spent too much time playing around instead of taking responsibility. Wuyang responded that Hanzo was now acting like her sister.
