Major MCU Mystery Won’t Be Addressed in Avengers: Doomsday

A recent rumor claims that a major unanswered question about the new Avengers: Doomsday movie won’t be resolved in the film.

What mystery won’t be explained in Avengers: Doomsday?

I was listening to the John Campea Show the other day, and someone asked a really interesting question. They wanted to know if the show would address the resemblance between Doctor Doom and Iron Man – you know, how they both share a similar look. It got me thinking, will they acknowledge that connection in the movie?

Campea paused before responding, explaining he knew the answer but didn’t want to reveal too much. He stated that there won’t be any answers in the upcoming film, Doomsday, but the changes will be explained in the next movie, Avengers: Secret Wars.

According to Campea, the movie doesn’t explain the resemblance between Doctor Doom and Tony Stark, and it shouldn’t. He believes the answer will be revealed in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars film. He emphasizes this is the correct approach and that he can’t offer any further explanation, confirming that the connection won’t be addressed in this current movie, but will be explained later.

Fans have long wondered why Doom appears similar to Tony Stark. When Robert Downey Jr., known for playing Iron Man, was cast as Doom, many expected his appearance to be significant in upcoming storylines like Doomsday and Secret Wars. However, some fans expressed concern that this change might overshadow a traditional Victor Von Doom story.

Based on what Campea said, it looks like we won’t know the full story until the ‘Secret Wars’ event happens.

Several popular actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are set to appear in the movie, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.

The movie will also feature appearances by Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

The next X-Men movie will feature the return of several familiar faces, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

The movie Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to come out on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
