A new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has given fans a closer look at Namor’s costume. The response has been largely positive, with many people excited about the character’s design. Tenoch Huerta plays Namor, an underwater antihero who will appear alongside characters from the X-Men and Fantastic Four. The film’s story involves heroes from different universes teaming up to fight Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Doomsday fans are loving Namor’s suit and look
The latest Avengers: Doomsday teaser focuses on the conflict between Wakanda and Talokan, highlighting characters like Namor, Black Panther, and M’Baku. It also briefly shows the Thing from the Fantastic Four. The teaser gives a quick look at Namor’s suit, specifically the black collar with gold details, and reveals his updated spear, which has a glowing blue tip – a change from his previous weapon in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Fans were impressed by the parts of the suit they saw and shared their reactions online.
I noticed in the teaser that Namor doesn’t actually speak – he’s there, but doesn’t have any lines. It’s Shuri who does all the voiceover narration, and surprisingly, only M’Baku and the Thing have actual dialogue throughout the clip.
The trailer opens with Shuri reflecting on the losses she’s experienced – her mother Ramonda (killed by Namor), her father T’Chaka (who died in an attack planned by Zemo), and her brother T’Challa. She acknowledges she has responsibilities, just as M’Baku, the current King of Wakanda, does. Throughout her narration, we see quick glimpses of Namor, Namora, and the people of Talokan.
Next, the scene shows M’Baku and Thing exchanging greetings, followed by Shuri making the Wakanda Forever salute.
It’s still unknown how big of a part Namor will play in Avengers: Doomsday. But according to a reliable source, MyTimetoShineHello, he’s expected to appear in several scenes with Sue Storm, who is his love interest in Marvel comics and other stories.
Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on December 18, 2026. The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who worked from a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The Russo brothers also produced the movie alongside Marvel Studios through their company, AGBO.
