The new horror film, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, is now playing in UK cinemas. Just like the original 28 Years Later, it features a shocking scene near the end – this time involving actor Ralph Fiennes and a famous song by Iron Maiden.
Okay, so remember how Jack O’Connell just showed up as Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal at the end of the first movie? This time, when Iron Maiden made their appearance, it wasn’t a bad thing at all! Honestly, I think it’s going to be one of those scenes everyone’s still talking about at the end of the year – totally unexpected and super memorable.
If you haven’t seen the movie and want to avoid spoilers, please don’t read any further. You can save this page and come back later – though be warned, you might wish a certain scene had been even longer!

Okay, so there’s this really wild scene where Jimmy Crystal, who basically thinks he’s a big shot, finally brings Dr. Kelson to this ancient temple. Before this, Jimmy basically lays it all out for Kelson – he needs his followers to think Kelson is the Devil, and that Jimmy is the Devil’s chosen one! The crazy part is, Jimmy knows Kelson isn’t actually the Devil, he’s just using him to manipulate everyone.
Dr. Kelson enjoys being alive, so he plays along with the deception and creates an incredible show set to Iron Maiden’s ‘The Number of the Beast’ – after all, what better song could you use to convince everyone you’re Satan?

In an interview with Digital Spy before the release of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Ralph Fiennes shared that the famous scene was originally much longer but was trimmed during editing.
We actually created the choreography ourselves and spent a lot of time developing it piece by piece. I was really glad they kept the original song in the final cut – it totally deserved to be there! I even learned the whole thing, but they did end up shortening it a bit because the full version was just too long for the scene.
Unfortunately, it seems the extra footage wasn’t filmed at all, meaning we won’t be getting an extended version with the home release. However, many fans would happily pay to see Ralph Fiennes perform the full scene privately, if he were able to recreate it.

Before the film comes out, Ralph Fiennes and his co-star, Chi Lewis-Parry, told Digital Spy that The Bone Temple is quite different from their previous movie, 28 Years Later.
Fiennes pointed out that the important scenes between Kelson and Samson, and those Jack O’Connell has with his character, are filmed simply, but with really powerful and memorable camera angles.
You know, as a fan, I always felt a really strong connection between the characters, and I think the actors did too. Apparently, they gave everyone both scripts at the same time and encouraged them to see it as one continuous story. Lewis-Parry said that really helped make the relationship between the characters feel natural and obvious from the start.
The new horror film, 28 Years Later, is now playing in UK cinemas and will be released in US cinemas on January 16th.
