BAFTA announces Rising Star nominees for 2026, including Sinners break-out Miles Caton

Before the nominations for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards are announced later this month, BAFTA has revealed the five actors competing for the EE Rising Star Award – the only BAFTA prize decided by public vote.

This year’s nominees are Archie Madekwe, Chase Infiniti, Miles Caton, Posy Sterling, and Robert Aramayo. They’ve all had impressive years, with standout performances in films like Lurker, One Battle After Another, Sinners, Lollipop, and I Swear.

This year’s nominees were announced in London this morning by Mia McKenna-Bruce, the 2024 Rising Star winner and soon to appear in Netflix’s Seven Dials. Letitia Wright, Damson Idris, and Emma Mackey were also at the event.

The nominations for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards were announced earlier this month, and both Aramayo and Infiniti received recognition. Aramayo is a contender for the Leading Actor award for his role in I Swear, while Infiniti is in the running for Leading Actress for One Battle After Another. Unfortunately, none of their other nominations for the Rising Star award made the longlist.

Making the longlist doesn’t mean a nomination is certain in either category, and it doesn’t affect the EE Rising Star award because that winner is chosen solely by public vote.
