Game Of Thrones’ Bold New Series Debuts On Rotten Tomatoes With Spinoff Record

The new Game of Thrones spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has received its first score on Rotten Tomatoes. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg and tells the story of Ser Duncan the Tall, a wandering knight nicknamed Dunk, and his young squire, Egg.

Before its January 18th premiere, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has already received a 81% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This score is based on 31 reviews and is expected to change as more reviews come in.

Season 2 of House of the Dragon received an 84% critics’ score, making it the lowest-rated season of any Game of Thrones spinoff. Only the final season of the original Game of Thrones (season 8, with a 55% score) has received a lower rating. Every other season of Game of Thrones earned a critics’ score of 90% or higher.

Jordan Williams at ScreenRant reviewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and found it to be incredibly charming, heartfelt, and funny – perhaps the most so in the entire Game of Thrones universe. She called it the most endearing story and character exploration the franchise has offered so far, awarding it a score of 9 out of 10.
