Louis Tomlinson avoids talking about Zayn Malik in new interview as insiders claim former bandmates were involved in a physical altercation’ during filming for their upcoming Netflix series

Louis Tomlinson hasn’t addressed reports of a physical fight with Zayn Malik in a recent interview. The alleged altercation happened while they were filming their new Netflix show.

Sources say the One Direction members had a disagreement after getting back together for a new travel show, as reported by The Sun.

It is reported that the pair were involved in a physical disagreement following a day of filming.

Louis, age 34, didn’t discuss Zayn, 33, in detail during a recent Billboard interview. Instead, he enthusiastically praised his other former bandmates, Harry Styles, 31, and Niall Horan, 32.

When asked about the upcoming show, Louis acknowledged the star with a nod and admitted, ‘The idea was actually his – I have to give him credit for it.’

But elsewhere in the interview, Louis raved over Harry and Niall and their solo successes.

He always believed in Harry’s potential, and isn’t surprised by his success. In fact, he thinks Harry has exceeded even his own high expectations, becoming a truly remarkable artist. He always felt Harry had the talent and drive to achieve great things.

‘And Niall, I had a good feeling about too — he’s Irish, he’s lovely, everyone loves him.’

Louis also shared that the band members have grown even closer since the sad loss of Liam Payne.

In October 2024, Liam passed away after a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Toxicology reports indicated the presence of both alcohol and cocaine in his system.

Louis said: ‘We are definitely closer than we were. It changes from person to person.

Similar to Niall, some people can go a year without contacting each other, and then reconnect as if no time has passed, talking for hours.

The Daily Mail has contacted Louis and Zayn’s representatives for a comment.

Reports surfaced earlier that Zayn and Louis agreed to a lucrative deal involving a US trip, where they would share stories about their lives and reminisce about their time in the band.

People involved with the production say the two are expected to talk about the sad passing of their friend and bandmate, Liam Payne.

According to a source, this upcoming show is expected to be massive for Netflix and will likely excite One Direction’s dedicated fans worldwide.

While a British boyband touring America might seem like an unusual concept, many of the members have actually built significant connections and careers in the United States.

This will probably be a good opportunity for the group to really reflect on their experiences and have meaningful conversations about their amazing 15-year journey, which began on The X Factor.

Zayn has been living in the US full-time since 2018. Louis also spends a lot of time there, largely because of his nine-year-old son, who he shares with stylist Briana Jungwirth.

Earlier this year, Zayn publicly acknowledged Louis after Louis came to see him perform in concert at the Shrine Exposition Hall in Los Angeles.

His relationship with his old bandmates became strained when he quit the band in March 2015.

One Direction became incredibly famous after competing on the X Factor in 2010, and they’ve sold over 70 million records around the world.

The group has received nearly 200 awards throughout their career, recognizing their popularity and impact. These accolades include seven Brit Awards, four MTV Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards, and an impressive 28 Kids’ Choice Awards.

Last October, Louis didn’t reveal much about the new documentary during his interview on Capital Radio.

Jimmy Hill noticed that you and Zayn have been spending time together and mentioned a rumor about a possible road trip show you might be making for Netflix. He wasn’t sure if the rumor was true, but wanted to ask about it.

Grinning, Louis replied: ‘I’ve heard the rumours, apparently so.’

When the DJ pressed him for confirmation about the show, Louis responded by saying he’d heard the same rumors as everyone else.

Okay, let’s be real – there’s something going on that I’m just not quite ready to share all the details of yet. I totally get why you’re eager to chat about it, and believe me, I wish I could spill everything right now, but it’s just not the right time for a full discussion. I promise to open up more when I can!
