Martin Freeman, 54, makes rare family appearance with girlfriend Rachel Benaissa, 31, and son Joe, 19, at The Seven Dials Mystery premiere

Martin Freeman stepped out with his family – girlfriend Rachel Benaissa and son Joe – at the premiere of ‘The Seven Dials Mystery’ in London on Tuesday. It was a rare public appearance for the family.

The 54-year-old actor, known for his role in the new Netflix series based on the Agatha Christie novel, looked sharp and stylish at the premiere, wearing a navy pinstripe suit.

Rachel, 31, looked stylish in a dark plaid suit while walking the red carpet hand-in-hand with Martin.

The French actress styled her brown hair in an elegant updo and finished the look with gold hoop earrings and a necklace.

Martin’s son, Joe, dressed in a stylish black pinstripe suit and cravat, posed for a photo with a female friend. Joe’s mother is Martin’s former partner, Amanda Abbington.

This exciting three-part series features Mia McKenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent, a detective investigating a mysterious murder.

Corey Mylchreest plays Gerry Wade, alongside Edward Bluemel as Jimmy Thesinger and Nabhaan Rizwan as Ronnie Devereux.

Netflix will release all seven episodes of the Agatha Christie mystery, Seven Dials, on Thursday, January 15th.

In an April interview on the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, Martin revealed he and Rachel enjoy cooking together when they have free time.

Lennie asked: ‘She’s French. Is she [Rachel] Cordon Bleu?’

Martin replied: ‘She’s not a Cordon Bleu… she’s a massive cheese and wine w****. 

‘That’s what she would say about herself. 

She jokingly describes herself as someone who enjoys the finer things in life, like cheese and wine. While that’s definitely a part of her personality, it doesn’t define her completely. She and we all enjoy cooking and spending time in the kitchen.

Martin recently shared some personal details about his family while on The Jonathan Ross Show. It wasn’t typical for him to discuss such things publicly.

Along with Joe, Martin also shares daughter Grace, 16, with Amanda.

Martin shared with Jonathan that he recently visited an escape room inspired by the Sherlock series, in which he stars as John Watson.

Martin revealed that he and his family did not escape in good time: ‘It did take us a while.

I went with my partner and our two children to see the BBC Sherlock Holmes show. I admit, it felt a bit silly going, but my kids were excited about it and thought it would be fun. It was actually really good!

You know, Romesh was giving Martin a bit of grief about going to this particular event, and Martin just burst out laughing! He explained it was because his voice was actually in it, and he hadn’t heard himself enough that week, so he wanted to stick around and listen. He wasn’t obligated to stay or anything, he just genuinely wanted to!

They’ve been together for about five years, ever since he ended his sixteen-year relationship with Amanda. She has said she was very upset after their split in 2016, explaining they simply couldn’t make their relationship work anymore.

It’s unknown exactly when Martin and Rachel started dating, but they were first seen together in 2020. Rachel seems to have become close with Martin’s children, Joe and Grace.

Martin and the actress from Toulouse began dating publicly in 2021, but they generally keep their relationship very private. She recently removed her Instagram account, where she occasionally shared photos of them together.

Rachel enjoys supporting Martin and frequently accompanies him to red carpet events to help promote his work in film and television.
