Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reveal what they DON’T like about each other after 45 years of friendship

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was watching the Today show and Ben and Matt were so cute talking about how long they’ve been friends! It’s just amazing to me – they’ve known each other forever, and they were there promoting their new movie, ‘The Rip,’ but honestly, just seeing them together and reminiscing was the best part. Seriously, their friendship is #goals!

During an interview on Tuesday, Boston natives Ben Affleck, 53, and Matt Damon, 55, shared what annoys them most about each other with journalist Craig Melvin.

Affleck jokingly said Damon wasn’t very good at keeping the house tidy. Damon quickly countered, explaining that was only true when he was younger.

The Air director said he didn’t have any other information, adding with a lighthearted tone, ‘We could always check with your wife to see if things have improved.’

Damon later named Affleck’s lateness as the thing that bugs him most. 

We arrived this morning, and surprisingly, Ben was three minutes early! It’s the first time in forty-five years he hasn’t been late, he joked.

The playful back-and-forth continued, with Affleck responding, ‘That’s totally untrue. I put in a lot of effort, and I’m working on other projects too.’

He playfully commented that the actor who plays him on screen enjoys a very comfortable life. He explained that everything seems to happen effortlessly for the actor – like magic – but acknowledged that’s just how things are done.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who famously won an Oscar for their 1997 film Good Will Hunting, are teaming up again for a new thriller. This time, they’ll star in a movie directed by Joe Carnahan about Miami police officers who come across a massive amount of seized money.

This followed an appearance by Damon on The Howard Stern Show where he shared that his wife, Luciana, always considered Ben Affleck to be the more attractive of the two in their earlier films.

The actor and Luciana first met in 2003 at a bar in Miami, and they married three years afterward.

However, months into their relationship, he found out his wife was more attracted to his co-star.

Oh my gosh, after we’d been dating for a few months, she told me this amazing story! Apparently, she and her best friend from high school went to see Good Will Hunting – can you believe it?! And her friend thought I was the cute one, while she was totally crushing on Ben! I was so thrilled her friend had good taste, and honestly, it just made me fall for her even more knowing she was with me and not Ben. It’s the cutest thing ever!

She confessed to me that 23 years ago, she had been mistaken for someone else. She said, ‘You’ve got the wrong person!’

When asked if a comment like that has lasting impact, Damon noted that the three of them frequently collaborate now.

His wife is a producer on The Rip, as well as Affleck’s next directorial project Animals.

Affleck explained that she’s a talented producer and a close friend, and he never sensed any negativity from her. He believes something he did personally caused the issue.

‘Finally she met him and all that went away,’ Damon lightheartedly added.

As a lifestyle expert, I always point to that incredible 1997 film as a prime example of creative success. Not only did the duo write the screenplay themselves, but they also starred in it! And the recognition? Truly amazing – they took home Oscars for Best Original Screenplay, and Robin Williams rightfully won Best Supporting Actor for his performance. It’s a classic for a reason!

Damon first encountered Barroso in Miami six years ago while working on the film Stuck on You. Together, they have four daughters: Alexia, who is 25, Isabella, 19, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15.
