Amanda Seyfried’s quiet life after shunning Hollywood: Actress finds ‘peace and privacy’ raising family on a farm – amid fears she’ll be cancelled over controversial comments

Amanda Seyfried, the popular American actress, has a reported net worth of $16 million and has starred in many hit movies. You might assume she lives in a grand mansion in Los Angeles, but that’s not necessarily the case.

However, that’s quite different from the truth for this 40-year-old from Pennsylvania, who avoids the flashy, extravagant lifestyle often associated with American movie stars in California.

The actress, who recently garnered attention at the Golden Globes, has decided to live in the small town of Stone Ridge, New York. She wanted a peaceful place to raise her children.

She and her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, purchased a home in 2013 hoping to give their children, eight-year-old Nina and five-year-old Thomas, a normal upbringing with local schools, away from the public eye.

She previously shared with Forbes that choosing to stay put was the best choice for her, providing the privacy, tranquility, and connection with nature she desired. She felt it allowed for a more balanced lifestyle compared to city living.

The family lives amongst a variety of animals, including their dog Finn. Amanda has shared that caring for her pets helps her stay grounded and peaceful.

I’ve always believed in a bit of rural living, and back in 2016, I shared my plans to welcome a goat and a pig into my life. My thinking was, if they grew up together, they’d be the best of friends – a little farm harmony, you know?

As well as Finn they already have four chickens, a rooster and two rescued cats.

She constantly raves about where she grew up, excitedly pointing out that it even has a Dunkin’ Donuts and a place for foot massages.

Even the grocery store feels unique – it’s a classic, small-town shop with a lot of local activity. I also like going to the farm stand where everything is completely locally sourced. Plus, I grow some of my own food in a garden.

Being able to return to a calm and comfortable home helps me adjust to the busy city life, exciting events, and demanding work on film sets.

Amanda is used to attending glamorous events like film premieres and The Met Gala, but she truly values being able to return to her quiet, private life afterward.

She recently shared with Forbes that she was looking forward to returning home and being content with simple tasks like caring for her animals.

She explained that growing up with pets has helped her children learn about caring for others and being responsible from a young age.

Amanda believes that having pets gives us a sense of purpose. Since they bring so much joy to our lives, she feels we have a duty to care for their health and well-being.

This news follows Amanda’s recent confession that she’s been incredibly stressed trying to balance being a mother with her acting job and successful businesses.

Let me tell you, this year has been a real challenge! As a mom, I’m used to juggling a lot, but this workload is unlike anything I’ve faced since becoming a parent. Honestly, I’ve been feeling the strain and it’s been tough.

The actress told Us Weekly she’s feeling overwhelmed. She explained that balancing work with two children is more challenging than ever, especially since she has two films releasing simultaneously. She admitted she’s a bit frazzled at the moment.

The two movies are The Housemaid, featuring Sydney Sweeney, and the historical drama The Testament of Ann Lee.

She said the two projects were completely different, but she was equally proud of both. Regarding ‘The Housemaid,’ she advised waiting to read the book until after seeing the movie to fully appreciate its surprises.

She also owns a toy company called Make It Cute.

The company, started by her and her lifelong friends Anne Hoehn and Maureen North, has become successful by offering both playhouses and craft kits.

We create the things we envision and focus on building things that aren’t already out there,” she said, describing their process. “From the very beginning, it’s felt incredibly special and different. We initially started with large-scale playhouses, but now we’re exploring smaller, more intimate designs.”

Oh my gosh, you HAVE to hear about these craft kits! They are seriously the cutest things EVER, and honestly, anyone can make them. It’s amazing because kids immediately want to personalize them with stickers and just… make them theirs. It’s like, a total hands-on, imaginative escape – they can build their own little worlds, and it’s just so much fun to watch! I’m obsessed, honestly.

Seyfried explained that the project started naturally during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. She, Hoehn, and North, all staying home with young kids, began sharing ideas and brainstorming during evening video chats.

Amanda sparked conversation at the Golden Globes on Sunday after appearing unimpressed when she didn’t win either of the Best Actress awards she was nominated for.

The actress seemed upset when Rose Byrne, known for her role in ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,’ won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture instead of her.

A video clip showing the Emmy-winning actor, nominated for their role in ‘The Testament Of Ann Lee’, quickly spread online. In the clip, they briefly made a face before quickly smiling and applauding.

Fans of Amanda Seyfried have suggested she seemed unenthusiastic because she didn’t believe she would win, and that she deserved to be recognized for her work.

The actress has sparked controversy and a backlash from many people in America after publicly sharing her political opinions, leading to calls for a boycott of her films and other projects.

Some people are trying to ‘cancel’ Heather Seyfried, which is ironic considering she recently starred in ‘The Housemaid’ alongside Sydney Sweeney, who has also faced criticism for her political views.

Last year, actress Megan Seyfried faced criticism for calling Charlie Kirk ‘hateful’ shortly after he was fatally shot during a campus debate at Utah Valley University. Kirk, a prominent conservative influencer known for his support of Donald Trump, was 31 years old at the time of his death on September 10th.

The actress not only called him ‘hateful’ in a comment on a social media post about his passing, but she also shared a meme suggesting people had anticipated his death.

The meme said, ‘If you create a situation where conflict is likely, don’t be surprised when it actually happens.’

People on social media were very angry about her response to the crime, and she later released a statement addressing the criticism.

‘We’re forgetting the nuance of humanity,’ she wrote in a text post on her Instagram.

I strongly condemn both sexism and racism, and I was deeply disturbed and horrified to hear about the violent attack on Charlie Kirk. No one deserves to be subjected to such brutality.

She went on to say that the nation is deeply saddened by the increasing number of unnecessary and violent deaths and shootings, and asked if everyone could at least agree on that point.

She explained she didn’t want to make the situation worse, but felt it was important to clarify something that had been misrepresented, even if she understood how it happened.

‘Spirited discourse- isn’t that what we should be having?’

After she made those statements, many of her previous fans said on X (formerly Twitter) that they would stop supporting her work in the future.

Seyfried later publicly embraced progressive values, calling socialism a compelling concept because it emphasizes community support and shared responsibility.
