Chris Pratt has a pretty unusual family connection – Arnold Schwarzenegger is his father-in-law! Pratt is married to Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Katherine, and they have three children together. Pratt often shares funny stories about Arnold, and his latest one is a real gem. He recently revealed that Arnold gave him a surprisingly wild Christmas gift last year, and Pratt’s reaction is hilarious.

Chris Pratt shared on The Graham Norton Show (via YouTube) that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a very generous gift-giver. Pratt said Schwarzenegger “goes all out” for people he cares about, and as an example, he revealed that Schwarzenegger gave him a large portrait as a holiday gift. But the surprising part wasn’t just the size of the portrait—it was what was in the picture!

This year, I received a large, incredibly realistic painting – six by eight feet! – of Arnold dressed as Santa Claus with our three children peeking around the Christmas tree while he enjoys a cookie.

That’s definitely a unique gift! It’s so specific, it’s funny to imagine Chris Pratt and Arnold Schwarzenegger displaying it in their home. Pratt, who also has a son named Jack with his ex-wife Anna Faris, joked about whether the portrait could stay up permanently.

I’m not really sure what the plan is for that project for the rest of the year. We’ll probably need to address it sometime in November. It’s quite large and currently framed.

During a chat with Graham Norton, Dawn French jokingly observed that the gift was impossible to re-gift, and even if it were, Chris Pratt likely wouldn’t part with it. This is the same Chris Pratt who once felt so nervous around his father-in-law that he braved asthma attacks by smoking cigars Arnold Schwarzenegger offered him. Despite that, the two seem to have a strong bond, with Pratt even admitting he’s learned things from Schwarzenegger. The video also showed Pratt received a second present.

It’s amusing to think that Arnold Schwarzenegger might soon play Santa Claus in a new holiday movie called The Man With the Bag. While his role isn’t officially confirmed, he is set to star with Alan Ritchson. If he does play St. Nick, any existing images of him as Santa could be a fun sneak peek at the film.

I’m really wondering how Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger will display Arnold Schwarzenegger’s portrait for most of the year. Apparently, it’s a very impressive gift, but it’s no surprise that the former governor put a lot of thought into it.
