What are Wild Animals in Heartopia

Heartopia is home to many charming wild animals that live in and around town. These creatures aren’t pets like cats or dogs – they’re a natural part of the local environment. But don’t mistake their cuteness for harmlessness; they play an important role in the ecosystem.

The creatures in Heartopia eat from feeding troughs found throughout the land. When you fill a trough, you start building a connection with the animal that uses it. The more consistently you care for them, the more interactions you’ll unlock – including fun animations and helpful rewards.

Currently, Heartopia features eight wild animals:

  • Capybara
  • Deer
  • Panda
  • Sea Otter
  • Alpaca
  • Fox
  • Bunny
  • Ferret

Animals all have their own favorite foods and ideal weather. Giving them what they like helps you become friends with them faster. Understanding each animal’s preferences really matters! Taking care of these animals might not be a traditional hobby, but it definitely feels like one. There’s a special happiness in seeing a happy, well-fed panda.

How to Unlock Animal Care in Heartopia

Okay, so if you want to feed the wild animals in the game, you’ll need to unlock something called “Animal Care” first. It’s a little different than most other features – the game doesn’t just hand it to you as you play the story. You actually have to go into the menus and unlock it yourself. It doesn’t pop up automatically, so keep that in mind!

First, open the Town Guide menu and start the Animal Care Quest. Once you do, you’ll get a call from Annie, who manages animal care in the game. She’ll teach you about how wild animals live, why they sometimes need our help, and how to use the feeding troughs.

Once you’ve finished that, she’ll ask you to find a trough and feed an animal. Doing this unlocks Animal Care permanently, letting you find and feed any wild animal in Heartopia whenever you like.
