I was so thrilled to hear that Night Court is coming to Netflix next month! As a big fan of the reboot NBC brought back in 2023 – it’s wonderful to see them continuing the hilarious tradition of the original series, set in a New York City courtroom – I can’t wait to be able to stream it and enjoy all the laughs whenever I want!
According to What’s on Netflix, the first three seasons of Night Court will be available to stream on Netflix starting February 3rd. This is the first time the show has been on Netflix, following its cancellation in May 2025. Previously, Night Court was available on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.
NBC Shocks Fans By Canceling Night Court After 3 Seasons
The season finale of Night Court left viewers with a big surprise: Judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch) announced she had a husband, played by Simon Helberg, who also appeared with Rauch on The Big Bang Theory. The episode ended with a message promising to reveal more about this new relationship, but unfortunately, NBC has canceled the show and won’t be making a fourth season.
Rauch shared that Helberg would come back if Night Court got another season, which was disappointing news for fans of both the original show and The Big Bang Theory.
I’ve been hoping to get him on the show since it began, but I wanted to wait for a role that was just right for him, Rauch explained to TV Insider.
We’re hoping to address some unanswered questions in a potential Season 4, and we already have a great plan for how to do it if we get the chance.
As a big fan, I was thrilled to hear Night Court is getting another season! The showrunners have said they feel like there are still so many stories they want to explore, and especially a big storyline from the season finale that they’re eager to continue. Honestly, I’m so glad – it feels like they’ve really hit their stride, and I can’t wait to see where they take things next.
Big Bang Theory’s Melissa Rauch Headlines Night Court Revival
Melissa Rauch is known for her role as Bernadette on The Big Bang Theory, where she starred alongside Simon Helberg, who played her character’s boyfriend and eventual husband, Howard. After The Big Bang Theory ended, Rauch continued her television career with a leading role on NBC’s Night Court.
The show starred Rhea Perlman as Abby Stone, the daughter of the original series’ Judge Harry Stone (played by Harry Anderson). Like her father, Abby works as a judge, but in New York City. John Larroquette returned as Dan Fielding, previously an assistant district attorney, and now working alongside Abby. Another familiar face from the original show also made an appearance.
In a social media post after the show was cancelled, she reflected on why it was so hard to accept. She wrote that it might have been due to growing up with the optimistic ‘Never Say Die’ spirit of the movie The Goonies, or simply not wanting such a wonderful experience to end.
After thoroughly investigating every possibility, we’ve reached the point where it’s time to say goodbye—or, more accurately, see you later.
Night Court Seasons 1–3 arrive on Netflix starting Feb. 3.
