At the Critics Choice Awards last Sunday, Timothée Chalamet publicly expressed his affection for his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, while accepting his Best Actor award.
He publicly thanked his partner of three years, telling her, “I love you and I wouldn’t be where I am today without your support.” He described her as his foundation.
Jenner, 28, appeared almost moved to tears.
What a difference a week makes.
After winning Best Actor at the Golden Globes for his performance in Marty Supreme, Timothée Chalamet, 30, quickly accepted the award and wrapped up his speech with a heartfelt message: “To my parents and partner, I love you. Thank you so much.”
People were already surprised to see the French actor arrive at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles for the event by himself—especially since his usual date, a Jenner, had showcased her gorgeous gold sequin gown on Instagram earlier that night.
However, very few people seemed to notice what looked like a strained conversation happening between the couple when the cameras weren’t rolling.
Once everyone was seated at their table inside the venue, just before the ceremony began, a short video captured what appeared to be a heated conversation between them and other celebrities. Despite their attempts to appear friendly, their tense exchange was clearly visible.
Now, lipreader Nicola Hickling has exclusively deciphered those words for the Daily Mail.
According to Hickling, the disagreement began with Chalamet leaning towards Jenner and saying, ‘You must hate me.’
Jenner is all smiles but replies, ‘Yes,’ before the actor asks in her ear, ‘Were you worried?’
Jenner then allegedly answers, ‘It was a bold yes.’
Her smile started to disappear as Chalamet sat down and noticed she seemed upset, saying, ‘You look bothered.’
Hickling claims the Kylie Cosmetics founder then tells her boyfriend, ‘Not here. You’re annoying.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Jenner and Chalamet for comment.
Timothée Chalamet continued his Hollywood success with his new film, Marty Supreme, which is already proving popular with moviegoers.
When Timothée Chalamet accepted the award for Best Actor in a musical or comedy film, he especially praised his director, Josh Safdie.
He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and for their faith in him. He also thanked them for the portrait and appreciated their perspective on life.

I remember being so excited when people first started talking about them! It was early 2023, and apparently they were seen looking really happy and chatting away at a fashion show in Paris. They’re usually so private, so even that little glimpse felt special.
Since then, they’ve been openly affectionate, sharing kisses at Beyoncé concerts, holding hands at red carpet events, and even sporting matching orange leather outfits at the premiere of Marty Supreme last month.
But there have also been the unavoidable problems.
What really stood out was Timothée Chalamet’s long-standing silence about the relationship, as he hadn’t spoken about it publicly until recently.
In a December 2025 interview with Vogue, he surprisingly admitted, ‘I don’t really have anything to share right now.’
The Daily Mail first reported in October that disagreements about marriage and having children were causing problems for the couple.
According to a source at the time, Timothée Chalamet was considering ending the relationship because his career was taking off, and he didn’t feel ready to be a father.
In November, news surfaced that Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner had split, but reports the next month suggested they had reconciled.
‘They cool down and they heat up,’ an insider told the Daily Mail at the time.
