The 2026 Golden Globes saw some truly striking fashion choices, with many stars embracing a daring look that prominently featured exposed sides – a style that quickly became the most memorable trend of the night.
Stars at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles made a statement on the red carpet with bold fashion choices, including unique cutouts and sheer designs. Jenna Ortega, Teyana Taylor, and Lori Harvey were among those setting the trend.
Ortega arrived in a striking black gown by Dilara Findikoglu, a sophisticated yet edgy design that combined gothic style with a bold look.
The actress, known for her role in ‘The Scream,’ wore a striking outfit with cut-out sides, revealing a glimpse of her figure. The dress also included stylish, fringed sleeves and a detailed, ornate collar for a high-fashion look.
Oh my gosh, the dress! It was just… breathtaking. The back plunged so low, with this amazing curve – like a perfect whale tail – and honestly, it looked incredible from every single angle. I couldn’t take my eyes off it, seriously!
The 23-year-old finished her look with a polished low bun and soft, face-framing bangs. She complemented her signature bleached eyebrows with a natural nude lip and delicate lashes, and the style was created by her regular stylist, Enrique Melendez.
Ortega was nominated for a Best Actress award at the ceremony, recognized for her role in the popular Netflix series, Wednesday.

Taylor made a striking appearance in a custom-designed black Schiaparelli gown. The dramatic dress featured a unique neckline that wrapped around her neck and a daring, cut-out design across the chest and torso.
The dress plunged low in the back, showing off her upper back and the curve of her waist. A diamond bow at her waist highlighted the shape.
During an interview with Justin Sylvester on Live from E!: Golden Globes 2026, the celebrity playfully remarked about a crack, saying it was ‘covered in diamonds.’ They added with a laugh, ‘Expensive, expensive.’
She added that her toughest critics – her children Junie, 10, and Rue Rose, 5 – fully approved.
She laughed, saying, ‘Those two are my toughest judges when it comes to fashion.’ Then, repeating herself with enthusiasm, she added, ‘But they were really enjoying themselves tonight. They were having a great time!’
Harvey, meanwhile, delivered a quieter but no less striking fashion moment.
According to hairstylist Ray Christopher, the model wowed everyone with a self-styled vintage outfit, showing that a great haircut and confident styling can be just as impactful as a high-fashion look.
Her outfit subtly highlighted her figure, creating a sophisticated and alluring look without being overly revealing.

The night’s daring didn’t stop there.
Justine Lupe turned heads at the event in a stunning, peach-colored gown from Armani Privé’s Fall/Winter 2021 Couture line.
The dress was strapless and very revealing, with see-through fabric, sparkling fringe, and a tight fit. It showed a lot of skin and offered minimal coverage.
Lupe was there to support the Netflix series Nobody Wants This, which received two nominations, one of which was for Kristen Bell, who also stars in the show.

Jennifer Lopez also turned heads with a stunning, sheer turtleneck gown designed by Stéphane Rolland for Jean-Louis Scherrer.
Her outfit was a striking combination of classic and contemporary styles. The fitted bodice featured swirling brown details that flowed into a full, mermaid-style tulle skirt, evoking the glamour of old Hollywood with a daring, modern edge.
Jennifer Lawrence showed that simple elegance can be just as impactful, wearing a striking Givenchy gown designed by Sarah Burton.
The Academy Award winner’s outfit featured delicate, see-through fabrics and carefully placed cutouts. It was a more subtle approach to the bold and daring fashion seen throughout the night, but still managed to turn heads and showcase some skin on the red carpet.

On Sunday, the 83rd Golden Globe Awards celebrated the biggest names in movies and TV at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Nikki Glaser is returning for her second year as host, and she’s expected to bring her famously unfiltered and hilarious comedy to the event, likely keeping the celebrity guests on their toes.
In a statement released in March, 41-year-old Joel Glaser said hosting the Golden Globes was the most enjoyable experience of his career. He jokingly expressed hope to return as host and finally land a role on ‘The White Lotus’ – specifically, as a mysterious Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a hidden backstory.
One Battle After Another is the frontrunner for nominations, receiving an impressive nine in total.
The Leonardo DiCaprio film received several major nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. DiCaprio himself is nominated for Best Actor, while Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn are up for Best Supporting Actor.

The film will be up against Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague for the Best Picture award in the Musical or Comedy category. Many were surprised that Wicked: For Good didn’t receive a nomination.
The Best Picture – Drama category features a competitive lineup including films like Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just An Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Values, and Sinners.
The popular Netflix series Adolescence continued its award-winning streak, earning nominations for its entire cast. Stars Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Owen Cooper (age 16) were all recognized, and Ashley Walters received a nomination as a welcome surprise.
The show received a nomination for Best Limited TV Series, Anthology Series, or TV Movie, joining titles like All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, and The Girlfriend. This brings its overall nomination count to five.
Despite strong competition from Adolescence, The White Lotus received slightly more nominations – six in total. This was largely due to the show’s impressive cast, with many nominations recognizing their performances.

This year’s awards show celebrates outstanding achievements in film, television, and – for the first time – podcasts, recognizing work across 28 different categories.
This year, each of the 28 award categories has six nominees, except for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which has eight.
The competition for Best Actor in a Television Drama is expected to be fierce, with strong contenders including Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Diego Luna (Andor), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Mark Ruffalo (Task), Adam Scott (Severance), and Noah Wyle (The Pitt).
Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty have both been nominated for acting awards. Sixteen-year-old Owen Cooper received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series, limited series, or TV movie.
He’ll be competing against Ashley Walters, his co-star, and other talented actors including Billy Crudup (from The Morning Show), Walton Goggins and Jason Isaac (both from The White Lotus), and Tramell Tillman (from Severance).
Erin is nominated for an award alongside Aimee Lou Wood, both recognized for their roles in The White Lotus. They are both competing for the Best Supporting Actress award in a TV series, limited series, or TV movie.
The category also includes Carrie Coon (The White Lotus), Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), Catherine O’Hara (The Studio), and Parker Posey (The White Lotus).

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Paul Mescal has earned a well-deserved nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. He’s up against some incredible talent, including Benicio Del Toro, Jacob Elordi, Sean Penn, Adam Sandler, and Stellan Skarsgard. His performance in ‘Hamnet’ is truly captivating, and it’s wonderful to see his work recognized alongside such a distinguished group of actors. It’s going to be a tough category, but I’m rooting for him!
The Best Screenplay nominees were Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another, Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme, Ryan Coogler for Sinners, Jafar Panahi for It Was Just an Accident, and Maggie O’Farrell for Hamnet.
Joachim Trier’s Norwegian film, Sentimental Value, received eight nominations, closely following One Battle After Another in the film categories.
Ryan Coogler’s film, Sinners, received seven nominations, while Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet and Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: For Good each earned five nominations.
Everyone was surprised when the sequel to “Wicked” wasn’t nominated for Best Musical or Comedy. However, both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande did receive nominations for their acting performances.
I was really shocked to see Sydney Sweeney left out of the Best Actress (Drama) nominations for her work in Christy! It felt like a major oversight, especially with Jennifer Lawrence getting a nod for Die My Love, Tessa Thompson for Hedda, and Julia Roberts for After The Hunt. Honestly, the inclusion of Eva Victor, who I’ve heard great things about from the indie film Sorry, Baby, was a bit of a surprise too, but it definitely added to the drama of the nominations!

Irish actress Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), who is seen as the front-runner, completes the category.
Neither Kathryn Bigelow’s Netflix thriller, A House of Dynamite, nor Bradley Cooper’s Is This Thing On? received any nominations.
Timothée Chalamet is aiming to finally win a Golden Globe after being nominated four times already. He was expected to win last year for his role in ‘A Complete Unknown,’ but didn’t. He did recently win the Best Actor award at the Critics Choice Awards.
He’s nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture this year for his role in Marty Supreme.
