Robin Wright, 59, flaunts youthful glow in elegant black gown on 2026 Golden Globes red carpet

Robin Wright looked remarkably young when she attended the 83rd Annual Golden Globes in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

The 59-year-old actress, recently spotted out with her daughter Dylan Penn, walked the red carpet alongside other stars like Jennifer Garner and Alicia Silverstone.

Wright received a Best Actress nomination for her role in the psychological thriller series, The Girlfriend.

She wore a black velvet dress that fit her closely, with sheer fabric draped around her shoulders.

The actress, known for her role in The Princess Bride, completed her all-black outfit with black open-toed heels and a black clutch featuring a crocodile pattern.

She had short, blonde hair styled in loose waves that fell just above her shoulders, with a side part.

Wright wore glamorous makeup for the sparkling event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

She opted for a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a light shadow around her eyes.

A touch of blush highlighted her cheekbones, giving her a radiant look, and a neutral satin lip tint completed the look.

The actress briefly turned her back to the cameras to reveal the dress’s sheer, backless design, adding a touch of glamour to her look.

The actress known for Forrest Gump smiled brightly as she walked the red carpet before the show began, which was hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.

Wright, who will be 60 in April, discussed aging in an interview with AARP The Magazine last year.

Honestly, when she talked about turning sixty, it just slayed me. She didn’t even blink! She said it wasn’t some big, scary finish line, just… another number, and a slightly bigger one at that! It’s just so her – totally refusing to let age define her. I swear, she’s an inspiration!

This hasn’t changed anything for me. I think I already had that realization around age 50, when I decided to live life on my own terms.

Wright has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie thanks to her role in ‘The Girlfriend’.

The thriller series first launched on Amazon Prime in September 2025, featuring Olivia Cooke, Laurie Davidson, and Waleed Zuaiter in the cast.

Laura Wright’s peaceful life is turned upside down when she starts to distrust her son’s new girlfriend.

According to IMDB, she’s fiercely protective of him, but her attempts to keep him safe lead to increasingly chaotic results. The question is whether her concern is reasonable, or if she’s letting fear take over.

The Girlfriend has been nominated for a Golden Globe in the category of Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Film.

Robin Wright has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award five times and won once for her performance in House of Cards.

The actress starred as Laura in The Girlfriend, but her involvement didn’t stop there – she also directed three episodes and served as an executive producer on the show.

Last month, at an event hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and the Directors Guild of America, Wright discussed her experiences working on the film.

She admitted she’d never gone through something like this before. After four years of hard work on the project, she plans to take a break, though she also said it was a lot of fun to create.

Wright recently shared with Harper’s Bazaar how much she enjoyed working with co-star Emma Cooke, who also appears in House of the Dragon.

‘We were so close. Sometimes when you’re on a set, an actor is not working as much,’ she said.

We all put in roughly the same hours, which gave us a great opportunity to understand each other’s work styles – how Olivia approaches things, and how I do. From there, everything just clicked and worked really well together.

We’d often pull aside to talk through scenes, asking each other what motivated certain choices. I’d encourage experimentation and let the other person try their ideas. That kind of teamwork is incredibly important.

Wright recently shared details about her move to the U.K. last year, where she now lives with her boyfriend, Henry Smith, who is an architect.

The Hollywood actress told The Sunday Times that it felt freeing to finally stop searching and settling for less than she truly wanted.

Wright bluntly described the United States as being in a terrible state when explaining her decision to leave.

She continued, enthusiastically sharing her affection for the U.K. She explained that she feels a sense of personal liberation there, noting that people are genuinely kind and seem to fully embrace life.

Most Americans aren’t stuck in traffic, stressed on the phone, or grabbing a quick bite. Life for many is just a constant rush of competition and speed.
