The comedy-thriller Borderline, featuring Samara Weaving and Ray Nicholson, is now available to stream in the UK. Critics have called its story full of surprises, making it a great choice for a weekend movie night.
Jimmy Warden’s first feature film stars Nicholson as Paul Duerson, a solitary man living in 1990s Los Angeles who develops an obsession with pop singer Sofia Minor, played by Weaving.
Paul’s unhealthy fixation on Sofia leads him to believe he’s destined to be with her, and he takes drastic measures, breaking into her home and holding her captive, determined to marry her. Now, Sofia must fight for her life and find a way to escape before it’s too late.

The film Borderline, which first came out in the US in March, is now available to stream in the UK on Sky Cinema and NOW. Both services require a subscription: Sky Cinema costs £10 a month, and the full NOW package is currently £11.98 a month.
The comedy-thriller, starring Eric Dane and Alba Baptista, has received mixed reviews from critics. Currently, it holds a 59% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 61 reviews.

Critics agree that while the movie is enjoyable thanks to strong performances from Samara Weaving and Ray Nicholson, it ultimately falls short and feels unsteady – it’s right on the Borderline of being truly good.
Despite some weaknesses, Ray Nicholson’s captivating performance is enough to hold your attention, according to Joe.ie. Decider called the film a wildly entertaining and bloody good time, simply enjoyable to watch.
SciFiNow also loved the film, describing it as bold and highly entertaining. While not understated, they praised its fun and stylish approach, saying it’s perfect for viewers looking for something unpredictable and delightfully crazy – and the soundtrack perfectly complements the experience.

According to Morbidly Beautiful, the film is a wild mix of horror, comedy, and thrills – a bizarre, late-night movie exploring obsession, celebrity, and the unsettling connection between violence and humor. They describe it as chaotic, unpredictable in tone, but ultimately a lot of fun.
Sky Cinema and NOW haven’t just added comedies and thrillers lately; they’ve also included the historical drama Nuremberg and the intense, character-driven film All the Devils Are Here to their streaming selections.
Borderline is streaming on Sky Cinema and NOW.
