As a huge Marvel fan, I’m already marking January 13th on my calendar! Even though Marvel only has two movies planned for 2026 – Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday – both are incredibly exciting, and honestly, they’re the projects I’ve been most hyped about since 2019. And it sounds like Marvel is going to give us another big sneak peek at Avengers: Doomsday on the 13th, which is the perfect way to start the new year! I can’t wait!
Okay, so I just saw the fourth trailer for Avengers: Doomsday – and you can only see it in theaters right now, playing before Avatar: Fire and Ash. Honestly, Marvel’s been doing things a little differently with how they’re releasing trailers, and it’s kind of controversial… but it might just be a stroke of genius, you know?
The initial promotional teasers each highlighted a different part of the overall story. The first focused on Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), then shifted to Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and most recently showcased the original X-Men team, including Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Cyclops (James Marsden).
The newest preview emphasizes more recent characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically showcasing Wakandan leaders Shuri and M’Baku, as well as Namor, who first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The video also features an unexpected cameo by Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, representing the first significant crossover with the Avengers: Doomsday universe.
Like the three trailers released before it, the fourth one is scheduled to appear online on Tuesday, January 13th, at 9 a.m. Eastern Time.
The scene begins with a thoughtful Shuri, now the Black Panther, walking by herself through a large, empty desert.
Speaking with a heavy heart, she acknowledges the people she’s lost and the burden she carries. She explains that, like a king who prepares his kingdom for what comes next, she too has a crucial role to fulfill.

The preview also offers quick looks at Namor and his cousin Namora, officially confirming Namora’s return after she first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Okay, so there’s this awesome scene where M’Baku and a bunch of Wakandans come up to the Thing – Ben Grimm, from the Fantastic Four. M’Baku gives this really formal introduction, like, “I am M’Baku, King of Wakanda!” and Ben just totally plays it cool with this deadpan response: “Ben. Yancy Street between Broome and Grand.” It’s hilarious because he just gives his old street address instead of, you know, acknowledging he’s talking to a king! It’s such a great moment.

The scene ends with Shuri ready to fight, and a message appears saying that both the people of Wakanda and the Fantastic Four will be back in Avengers: Doomsday.

Although Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn aren’t shown in the short preview, they’re likely filming close by.
The trailer confirms the Fantastic Four will officially join the main Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, continuing the story from their previous film, which took place in a different universe. It also hints that Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) kidnapping Franklin Richards will be a key part of a larger, upcoming storyline potentially titled ‘Doomsday,’ as teased after the credits of the previous film.
It’s not entirely clear where this event happens, although it’s generally believed to be in the main Marvel universe (Earth-616). However, this doesn’t explain its connection to the end of the Thunderbolts movie, where we see a team of New Avengers watching the Excelsior spaceship approach Earth.
Besides his family, Ben is also joined by heroes like Yelena, Red Guardian, and Bucky Barnes, who are all looking for Doom. Fans are eager to find out how these groups will connect, and upcoming trailers will probably show some of these early team-ups.
Is There a 5th Avengers: Doomsday Teaser?
The fourth short preview of the upcoming film is scheduled to be released online on January 13th, and fans are already hoping for a fifth. These previews, each focusing on a different character, were part of a planned series of four, designed to promote the movie Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters.
Instead of typical, exciting trailers, these clips have worked more like short, atmospheric scenes. They’re intentionally broken up and jump between different points in time, realities, and groups of characters to create a specific mood.
Despite the film’s release, many fans believe Marvel Studios or the directors, the Russo brothers, might still have one more surprise in store. There’s a lot of online talk about a possible fifth trailer, which some think could tie up loose ends and connect parts of the story that currently feel separate.
A major reason people are talking about potential changes to the movie is the lack of Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who was expected to be a key attraction. Even after several trailers and reveals of returning characters, Doom hasn’t been shown. Many fans believe we’ll definitely see a fifth trailer focused on Doom, or at least hinting at his role, and it feels essential rather than optional.
Even if we don’t see anything new about Avengers on January 20th, a standard trailer is likely to appear during the Super Bowl on February 8th.
