Candice Warner reveals next big ‘cutthroat’ career move: ‘I’m very goal driven’

Candice Warner has revealed she is eyeing off a return to the airwaves.

The cricket player’s wife, age 40, shared that with her three children doing well in school, she plans to prioritize her career in 2026, according to Confidential.

She said she was interested in returning to the competitive world of commercial radio.

Oh my gosh, Candice just gets me! She said radio is where she feels most at home, and honestly, same! It’s like, she totally understands. And you know, she’s a mom to three gorgeous little girls – Ivy, Indi, and Isla – with her husband, David Warner, the cricketer. It’s just… everything about her feels so real and relatable!

I find it more genuine, relaxed, and enjoyable. It’s definitely my favorite way to express myself, and I’m eager to start doing it again.

Candice added she was fully aware it is not an easy industry to break into.

Ugh, radio is just brutal, honestly. I was just hearing how they’re constantly trying to save money, like, someone could be doing their show from Melbourne and just sending it to Sydney. It’s all about the bottom line, and it totally kills the local vibe, you know?

She admitted finding radio work would be very challenging, but the former Ironwoman remains committed to following her dreams.

Candice explained that having goals is really important to her, making her both a happier person and a better mother, as it gives her something to work towards.

Candice began her radio journey in 2022, making guest appearances on several Triple M Sydney shows. She even filled in as host on The Rush Hour for Wendell Sailor.

She also co-hosted Triple M’s Summer Breakfast show, returning to the line-up the following year.

He also co-hosted the Triple M show, Dead Set Legends, with Dan Ginnane and Richard Freedman.

Speaking with Media Week in 2022, Candice said she had long wanted a career in media.

‘I wanted to be in the media somewhere, just wasn’t quite sure in what way,’ she said.

The more I work in radio, the more confident I become. I’ve realized it’s where I belong and where I want to build my career.

I was so fascinated to learn recently that Candice, the incredible athlete we all know, had a completely different career path in mind when she was just 14! She shared with the Daily Mail that if she hadn’t become a pro athlete at that age, she would have pursued a surprisingly different job – it really shows you how life can take unexpected turns!

She confessed that if she hadn’t been an athlete, she likely would have become a veterinarian.

Overall, I believe our life would be much the same as it is today – filled with family, activity, and time with friends.

Candice began her professional athletic career at just 14 years old, competing in the Ironman series. By the time she was 16, she had become the New South Wales state champion in ironwoman competitions.

She and David welcomed their first child, Ivy, in 2014, and tied the knot a year later.
