Brooklyn Beckham posted a heartfelt birthday message for his wife, Nicola Peltz, on Friday, calling himself a very lucky man, even though he’s currently dealing with a difficult family conflict.

David Beckham reportedly tried to reconnect with his son this week by privately contacting the actress his son is married to. This came as a last-minute effort to improve their strained relationship, as the son has requested all communication go through his lawyers.

Brooklyn, 26, celebrated his wife Nicola’s 31st birthday by publicly sharing his affection for her, seemingly ignoring any recent issues or negativity.

He shared wedding photos on Instagram with the message: ‘Happy birthday to my wonderful wife, Nicola!’

King Charles knighted David in October, but his children, Brooklyn and Nicola, weren’t there to see it.

Sources say the retired footballer invited Brooklyn to Windsor Castle for the investiture ceremony, and also extended a dinner invitation to Nicola in west London.

However, they didn’t come, so the former midfielder’s three children, his parents Ted and Sandra, and his wife, Lady Victoria, a fashion designer, attended the ceremony in Berkshire and the following party at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Chelsea without them.

This was the latest in a series of family events that Brooklyn and Nicola have missed this year. They previously didn’t attend Sir David’s 50th birthday party or the premiere of his mother’s new Netflix series.

According to The Sun, Brooklyn, a resident of the United States with his actress wife, declined the offer because he believed it was simply a planned publicity stunt.

Last summer, things got so strained between the Beckhams that Brooklyn reportedly asked his parents to communicate with him through his legal team, according to a Daily Mail report on Thursday.

I’ve heard that even though things have been tough with his parents, he’s actually been keeping in touch with his grandparents – both on his mom’s and dad’s sides – pretty consistently. It’s good to know he’s maintaining those family connections.

Instead of speaking directly, the son and his parents communicated through their lawyers. Each side was represented by separate legal firms: Schillings for the son, and Harbottle & Lewis for the parents.

Brooklyn asked his parents to respect his privacy by not contacting him and refraining from discussing him on social media.

They hadn’t taken any legal steps against each other, and the letter itself wasn’t based on any legal grounds – it was just a simple request.

However, this came after what Brooklyn saw as a string of harsh discussions about his wife, Nicola. These briefings included claims that he was being manipulated and controlled by her, and that he was essentially a hostage in the situation.

Throughout the week, those close to the situation – including representatives and friends of those involved – remained tight-lipped, hoping the issue would resolve itself peacefully.

According to one source, David was instructed to communicate with them only through the law firm Schillings. That was the sole method of communication they would allow.

Brooklyn blocking his family on social media right before Christmas could be related to legal advice he received.

His family had been watching and enjoying his cooking videos, but Brooklyn felt this went against their desire for privacy – that his family should leave him and his wife alone.
