Fans of The Masked Singer are upset, claiming the show is using artificial intelligence to create the clues.
The hit Fox singing competition show kicked off its fourteenth season on Wednesday, introducing a fresh batch of unique performers dressed as fun costumes like an Eggplant, Pugcasso, Queen Corgi, Scarab, and The Croissants.
Before each show, viewers and judges—including Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Rita Ora—received clue packages designed to help them guess the masked singer’s identity.
In the past, the masked celebrity would use objects and gestures to convey clues about themselves.
It appears the Fox show is now using artificial intelligence to generate its promotional clips.
Fans are angry about the recent change, calling it ‘lazy,’ and some are threatening to stop watching The Masked Singer.
Frustrated users took to Reddit to voice their concerns, and one person even proposed starting a petition to try and change the decision.
One user kickstarted a thread titled, ‘AI clue packages suck.’

Fans are criticizing the show’s recent use of AI, saying it’s a letdown considering the series is known for its elaborate visuals and grand-scale production values.
I don’t think things will improve now that this situation has unfolded, and we just have to accept it. However, it’s disappointing to see it negatively impacting what was a truly joyful showcase of handcrafted work.
The show ‘Masked Singer’ thrived without artificial intelligence in the past, and it certainly doesn’t need it now. Hopefully, the producers will prioritize quality and bring back a human to handle this aspect of the show, before it ruins what makes it so unique and enjoyable.
Commenting on the thread, another claimed the AI was ‘so obvious and horrible.’
“I can’t stand it,” someone exclaimed, after another clue was revealed. They added that they’ve always been impressed by the intricate detail and creativity of the clues, and how the artists seamlessly brought everything together.
I’m really frustrated with the AI; it’s making the show unenjoyable, and I feel like I haven’t been able to understand the clues very well.
‘There have been so many unsettling shots as well. It’s just low effort and weird.’
One person expressed strong disappointment with the AI’s use, describing it as feeling uninspired and lacking personality.

Someone commented that they believe we should stop watching the show. They feel it’s wrong to use artificial intelligence now that the show has relied on skilled artists for so long.
I hope we can start a petition to change this. It’s unfair for large companies to take advantage of artists when they clearly have the funds to compensate them properly.
In a separate thread, another user pointed out that the clues packages didn’t look ‘real’.
They expressed disappointment, particularly because the show has the resources to create original content. However, they felt the creators chose the easy route instead, prioritizing laziness over effort.
Daily Mail has contacted Fox for comment.
The fourteenth season of the show kicked off with a surprise: David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz was revealed as the first celebrity contestant under the Googly Eyes costume.
I was so impressed with Leung – he was the only one who actually figured out who it was! Everyone else was way off. Thicke thought it was Pedro Martinez, Ora went with Manny Ramirez, and Wahlberg surprisingly guessed Derek Jeter. It was a tough one, but Leung really nailed it.
I’m so excited for next week’s episode! We’re finally going to find out who’s behind the Croissants mask! They did an amazing job with Jailhouse Rock – you wouldn’t believe it, but they really brought Elvis Presley’s classic to life.
Okay, so it was SO weird. They were dressed like… straight out of a cartoon about France, all berets and striped shirts, but then they started talking, and it was pure, thick Southern drawl! Like, seriously? They claimed they’d been separated at birth or something, but the accents just didn’t match the outfits at all. It was totally bizarre, and I couldn’t stop staring!
Their introduction also suggested they were reality TV stars.
