Emily Atack was surprised when she shared photos of her family’s Christmas and received a lot of questions from her 1.8 million Instagram followers instead of the expected compliments. People were particularly focused on how thin she appeared in the pictures.
Everyone was curious about how the actress, famous for her role and physique in the popular TV show Rivals, had lost so much weight. Specifically, people wondered if she’d used Mounjaro or Ozempic to achieve her new figure.
Her fans were likely shocked and confused, and perhaps even felt a little betrayed.
Emily is well-known for encouraging self-love and body acceptance, no matter your size, and for refusing to let negative comments on social media get her down.
It’s highly unlikely she’d use weight loss injections, and we don’t actually know if she has – she hasn’t said anything about it.
It might simply be willpower – resisting tempting treats. However, with weight-loss injections becoming so popular, we can’t help but wonder if there’s more to the story.
She recently posted pictures showing off a dramatic new look: a stylish short bob haircut and incredibly fitted jeans. It’s clear she’s lost a significant amount of weight.

I really like Emily and wouldn’t want to say anything negative about her. However, I can see why her fans are upset. Isn’t it a little ironic that she’s now showing off her very thin physique after previously dismissing criticism about her weight?
Since her memorable role as 18-year-old Charlotte Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners, she’s unfortunately faced ongoing harassment.
She explained that she first experienced online body shaming when she began working on ‘The Inbetweeners,’ with people commenting on her weight. This surprised her because she hadn’t previously considered her weight to be a problem.
Throughout her career, she’s consistently faced criticism about her body and has always supported women with natural, curvy figures. Now, some fans feel disappointed by her recent appearance and feel she’s not representing the body positivity she once championed.
Nearly 40% of young women in England (ages 16-24) are now considered overweight, though many embrace a more positive body image. Emily was a role model for them, demonstrating that it’s possible to be full-figured and still beautiful and achieve success. But now, she’s unexpectedly become very thin.
Fans expressed concern over a celebrity’s weight loss, with one writing, ‘You’re beautiful, but please don’t feel you need to become extremely thin – you’re a beautiful role model as you are.’ Another commented that the celebrity had lost their curves.

Another commenter on The Daily Mail’s website pointed out that many celebrities previously celebrated and embraced larger body types, but now seem to have changed their views after using weight-loss injections.
Emily has long been a vocal advocate against fat-shaming online. After facing intense media attention during her appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2018, she decided she would no longer use weight-loss apps.
Won’t sharing photos of her new, slimmer figure just bring unwanted attention from the media again?
I personally liked Emily better in Rivals. She was comfortable and confident in her own skin, and the scenes of her playfully being naked with Rupert Campbell-Black (played by Alex Hassell) really showed that. It was a much more appealing portrayal.
Lots of people online have noticed Emily’s recent weight loss, and it seems I’m not the only one wondering if she’s had weight loss injections. I hope she’s honest with her followers and shares what she did, if anything.
Given that she’s no longer our goddess of body positivity, surely it’s the least she could do.
