Kaia Gerber appeared relaxed and content, enjoying a cigarette while taking a break from filming her latest project, a drama series by Ryan Murphy.

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s 24-year-old daughter was all smiles while smoking on a Malibu beach, seemingly unconcerned about the risks to her health.

Wearing a navy coat and jeans, the supermodel gave her famous, bright smile as she stepped into the wind to enjoy a cigarette, looking relaxed and stylish.

She chatted playfully with the people working on the film, sitting comfortably on a picnic table as if she was completely at home on set. A wisp of smoke gently circled her, adding to the impression of relaxed ownership.

At one point, she even settled cross-legged on the table, taking another long puff.

It’s unclear if Kaia’s character in the upcoming series, ‘The Shards’ (based on Bret Easton Ellis’ novel), will be shown smoking, but Kaia Gerber definitely embraced the glamorous Hollywood lifestyle at a recent event.

This suspenseful story takes place in Los Angeles in 1981 and centers around a group of privileged high school seniors. As they approach graduation, they grapple with typical teenage experiences like sex and drugs, all while a serial killer is on the loose.

Murphy seems to favor Gerber, having given her a significant role over two seasons of his popular show, American Horror Story.

Since then, she’s added impressive credits to her acting career, appearing in shows like Apple TV’s Palm Royale and the Amazon series Overcompensating.

She’s also showcased her talent for comedy in the popular teen film Bottoms and several other well-received independent movies.

I was so thrilled to see Rachel Gerber in ‘Bottoms’ last year! She was fantastic as the popular cheerleader, but it’s funny because she’s said herself that the character is totally different from who she really is. It just shows what a great actress she is, being able to pull that off!

She told W magazine that she didn’t fit in during high school, explaining she wasn’t popular or involved in activities like cheerleading, and often felt like an outsider.

She acknowledged that the movie example was over-the-top, but said the feeling of being ignored or not having your passions valued is something many people experience.

Emma Seligman, the director of ‘Bottoms,’ praised the lead actor’s talent, calling it exceptional.

The filmmaker told W. that she’s an exceptionally talented and knowledgeable actor – one of the best they’ve ever collaborated with. They also praised her dedication to her work and her respect for the director’s creative ideas.

Emma compared the runway model to a photographer or designer, saying she was simply doing her job and trying to cooperate.

Oh my gosh, Kaia is just killing it with her modeling! She’s everywhere – magazine covers, huge campaigns, the works! But you can tell she knows people are always going to talk about her mom, Cindy Crawford. It’s like, she’s building her own amazing career, but Cindy’s shadow is always there, you know? It must be tough, but Kaia handles it with so much grace!

She explained to Vogue in 2019 that people in the industry had commented on how much she looked like her mother from the very beginning.

The more I age, the more I notice it – and it’s not just how people look. It’s everything about them, including their habits and the way they speak.

You know, it’s funny. I used to not even notice the changes, but now when I look at old photos, I actually have to pause and really study them to figure out which one is me. It’s a strange feeling, seeing how much time has flown by and how much I’ve changed!

Gerber seemed to be enjoying her new relationship, as she was seen walking on the beach with boyfriend Lewis Pullman near her family’s home in Los Cabos, Mexico on Sunday.

Gerber, at 24, is almost nine years younger than Pullman. Sources say they began a romantic connection towards the end of 2024.

The timing raised eyebrows, coming the same month she split from longtime boyfriend Austin Butler.
