Riot Games unveils trailer for Exalted Revenant Reign Viego skin

A brand-new animated trailer has revealed the first glimpse of the Exalted Revenant Reign Viego skin, which will be released with the upcoming LoL patch 26.02.

Viego is kicking off 2026 with League of Legends’ first Exalted skin, Revenant Reign. This skin is part of the game’s collectible system and boasts stunning visuals and a higher price than most.

Exalted Revenant Reign Viego: In-game look

The new Exalted Revenant Reign Viego skin was shown off in a trailer by Riot Games, giving players a first look at the in-game model. A key feature is Viego’s sword, which changes color and animation depending on the enemy he’s fighting. The sword’s appearance is tied to the enemy’s class, and Viego can collect up to seven different swords, each with its own distinct look and color.

In a recent video, Riot 100PC Nuggets explained that after talking with many experienced Viego players, they discovered what makes playing Viego the most enjoyable.

Viego: When love leads to ruin

Viego is a remarkably well-developed character in League of Legends, known for his compelling and emotional backstory. The official trailer shows his intense sorrow after the loss of his wife, and he’s now determined to revive her, no matter the cost – even if it means destroying the world in the process.

Okay, so I’ve been playing Viego, and his story is intense. Basically, he’s become this ghost king, totally consumed by grief over his wife who died ages ago. It’s messed him up big time. Now he leads these terrifying armies called the Harrowings, just traveling all over Runeterra, desperately searching for anything—anything—that could bring her back. The problem is, he just destroys everything in his wake while he’s looking. It’s pretty dark, but super interesting to play as!

Viego eventually succeeded in bringing his queen back to life, but she returned as a twisted version of herself and attacked him with his own weapon. He was so focused on reviving her that he never stopped to consider if she even wanted to be brought back. This led to his death and the tragic transformation of the once-beautiful Blessed Isles into the haunted Shadow Isles.

The official trailer for the new skin is available on the League of Legends X (formerly Twitter) page and on YouTube. The Exalted Revenant Reign Viego skin will be released with League of Legends patch 26.02 on January 22, 2026.

The Revenant Reign skin is exclusive to The Sanctum and is obtained through a random draw system. It might take several tries – and possibly some purchases – to get it, so keep that in mind. You’re guaranteed to receive the skin after 80 attempts.
